S​pecific ​M​easurable ​A​ttainable ​R​ealistic ​T​imely


Remember to be specific with your goals. A specific goal has a much greater chance of being
accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the six “W” questions:

*Who: Who is involved? *Which: Identify requirements and constraints.


*What: What do I want to accomplish? *Why: Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of
*Where: Identify a location. accomplishing the goal.
*When: Establish a time frame.
EXAMPLE: A general goal would be, “Get in shape.” But a specific goal would say, “Join a
health club and workout 3 days a week.”

1) My ACADEMIC goal is: ​Graduate High School and get into a 4-year university.

Three steps I will take to complete this goal are:


a) Continue to maintain good grades
b) Perfect and implement my time management skills throughout the
whole year to keep up with my work.
c) Put a numerous amount of effort in my college applications.

2) My LEADERSHIP/SERVICE goal is:​ Develop my communications skills.

Three steps I will take to complete this goal are:


a) Get involved in clubs and programs to get more opportunities to
socialize.
b) Push myself out of my comfort zone.
c) Meet new people

3) For next semester, my personal goal is: ​Exercise more often


Three steps I will take to complete this goal are:
a) Obtain a fitness membership

c) Build dedication to consistently be motivated to exercise
