In the United States, vaccinations has become a controverted topic concerning children’s health; causing arguments whether children should or
should not be vaccinated. Vaccinations and immunization shots should be vitally used with children. According to National Foundation for
Infectious Diseases, “In the US, vaccine-preventable infections kill more individuals annually than HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, or traffic accidents.”
Therefore, vaccinations can mean the difference between life and death. As can be seen in the image above, the father discusses his concern of
vaccines towards the doctor. Generally, parents argue that vaccines can cause their child to become ill due to various side effects. Guardians
become extremely hesitant, and some refuse to have their child vaccinated. Stated from Vaccines.gov, “common side effects for vaccines include:
pain, swelling, redness, chills, and feeling tired”. This can be contradicted, because symptoms of vaccines only last up from 3 to 5 days. If it were
dangerous to have humans vaccinated, vaccinations wouldn’t be allowed for immunization and health in the United States. Therefore, children
should receive vaccinations for the purpose of long lasting health and to prevent variety of diseases from spreading.
