Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was a british politician and writer.

He was
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War II, during which he led
his country to a sound victory. My choice as an example of inspirational leadership
is Winston Churchill because he took charge in times of crisis and won peoples’
hearts with his remarkable speeches and rallies. As every leader does, the ex-prime
minister has certain traits that make him such an inspiration even to this day.

First of all, one characteristic is courage. Churchill’s first act of courage came
before his mandate as prime minister. In a time of crisis, after Neville
Chamberlain’s resignation, he took charge. During a speech in 1941, he stated:
Never give in - never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty,
never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.”. These words were
to turn to actions, as Britain never surrendered during the war. Courage was shown
not only through words, but through actions. When France surrendered to the
Nazis, Great Britain stood alone to fight the war.

Second of all, as every leader should, Winston Churchill had vision. He had a clear
goal and was never shy of showing it to the public: victory at all costs. In his own
words: “ You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory
at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road
may be; for without victory, there is no survival.”. By presenting his vision to the
British he managed to win their hearts because in times of war a leader has to have
a clear aim and his was always clear.

Lastly, what is remarkable was his passion. A dedicated man, he stood by his
country’s side not only during the war, but throughout his hole life. As a member
of the liberal party in the early 1900s or of the conservative party later, Churchill
always wanted what was best for his country, constantly giving constructive
criticism.

In conclusion, undoubtedly an inspirational leader, Winston Churchill managed to

win peoples’ hearts through his words, his winning mentality and his traits,
courage, passion, vision and many more. What really shows his impact on the
British is the fact that to this day he is remembered as an example of leadership.
