CARALDE
LET’S DANCE!
PAPER SCRAPER!
Set up the cards by bending 20 of them in half
horizontally for 30 seconds.
When the clock starts, players may begin
building a tower with each level consisting of two
pre-bent flash cards placed on their long side
with 1 flash card flat on top.
Players may not make additional creases in the
cards.
To complete the game, players must build a 10-
story structure within the 60-second time limit, and
the structure must remain intact for 3 consecutive
seconds.
The first team/group to finish the challenge will be
the winner.
In the event that nobody able to complete the
challenge, the one with the most levels stacked
will be the winner.
OBJECTIVES
Define Slope of Line;
Find the Slope of a line; and
Distinguish the difference of
the different slopes.
How do you find the activity?

What strategy What have you

did you use to learned and
construct the realized while
tower in quickest doing the
possible time? activity?

What do you think the relation of that activity to our topic?

What is Slope?
What does the line look like when…

• You have positive slope?

• You have negative slope?

• You have zero slope?

• You have NO slope?

(Undefined)
Definitions of Slope
• The tilt or inclination of a line

• The ratio of vertical change to

horizontal change.

• The change in y over the change in x

• Compare to the slope of blue line 3
Notice with the smaller slope, 2
the line becomes flat. 1

Notice with the larger slope, the -5
line becomes steeper.

When slope is negative the line -4

goes down-hill from left to right. -5

Determining Slope cont. . .
1. First pick two points
on the line
The points need to be
where the lines cross
so they are integers
Rise = 10

The class are divided into four groups. This activity
consists of two rounds – Math Team and The Battle.

Math Team (Teamwork makes a dream works)

• Every group/team are provided with flash card and

chalk

• There will be 5 questions.

• Each question will be equivalent to one (1) point and

is to be answered in 30 seconds.
• After the time elapsed, all team should

raise their flash cards with answer.

• After all five (5) questions are given, the

group will choose one (1) representative to

compete for the next round.

The Battle
• In this round, the first man to stand are
given a chance to answer the question
being asked.
• There will be 3 questions.
• Each question will be equivalent to three
(3) points and is to be answered in 15
seconds.
• The team earned the highest possible
score will be the winner.
