How to create a Legacy Variant condition

1. Create a Variant Condition called Model, with 2 options: base and deluxe.

2. Edit --> Options, and set PSEVariantsMode=legacy

3. Create a simple assy with Classic/Legacy variants.

4. Create a simple 2 component assembly, and send to Structure Manager.

5. Open the Data Panel
6. Switch to Legacy Variants.
Highlight the Assembly, and Name the Variant Option, and assign Values.
7. Highlight the first component for the base option, and select: Edit  Variant Condition
Option: Model
Item: Assembly ID
Value: base

Add this information to the Variant Condition dialog:

8. OK this dialog:
9. Now, do the same for the second component, except set the option to deluxe.
10. Toggle OFF: View  Show unconfigured variants
11. Select the ‘Variant Rule’ icon:

12. Specify the desired Variant Rule:

13. You will see the Structure using the ‘base’ Variant Rule:

14. Change the Variant Rule to ‘deluxe’:
