Pharma Sector :-Contract Labour, Environment health and safety, Operations, Gate entry, CAPEX.

Value Addition: i) Recommended to reduce the size of the bus to the actual number of employees
travelling on the route, since the occupancy was only 50% of the normal capacity leading to the
substantial savings on the cost of transport of employees of INR15 lakhs and 20 lakhs for 2 plants. (ii)
Identified that the excess OT amount was being paid by the contractor supervisors resulting in the excess
payments of 67 hours for the sample of 2 months. (iii) Identified excess payments were made to vendor
 for wall painting due to non-validation of the area as per the invoice and the actual measurement area
leading to the excess payments of 9.8 lakhs.

Manufacturing Sector:- Inventory and Production.

Value Addition: (i) Identified cases where the materials were consumed through direct consumption and
the items were not routed through BOM(bill of material) which may lead to stock going unnoticed and
wastages etc. (ii) Identified cases where the items were used for production after the expiry of the shelf
life. (iii) All the quality norms as defined in the SOP was not being adhered to when the same was being
tested.

Tea Plantation:- Statutory compliances, HR& Payroll.

Value Addition: (i) Identified non-compliance with the requirements of the Factories Act, 1948. (ii)
Recommended for adherence with the license of Food Safety and Standards, Act resulted in timely
discharge of penalty and renewal of the license parameters. (iii) Recommended for adherence with the
license of Tea Waste Order. (iv)Recommended compliance to the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board
Norms.

Value addition: (i) Identified flaws in vendor selection process and advised a revision in policy resulting
in monthly savings of >INR 6 lakhs. (ii) Investigated excess insurance cover taken by company leading to
extra monthly outflow of INR 7 lakhs as premium. (iii) Identified Discrepancies in accounting of

drafting initial internal audit report for observations and management comments.

Value addition: (i) Identified leakages and assisted in drafting efficient policy for the client to reduce
manufacturing cost. (ii) Assisted in drafting revised scrap disposal policy to track the revenue generated
from sale and wastages. (iii) Identified flaws in contract labour laws compliance and in salary expense

with the procurement plan. (v) Identified delays in refund claim filing for VAT paid on procurement of

Value addition: (i) Identified the existence of 8 duplicate Insurance policy numbers in the CMS system
on a sample basis (ii) Recommended for drafting a policy for employee fraud - which included the
authority to report in the event of employee frauds, manner in which an investigation to be performed to
confirm the fraud, and the composition of committee to review the fraud reported.
