The Most Holy Trinity

On this Sunday we are reminded that the Church has chosen the language of “family”
to name our human experience of God. We refer to God as Father, Jesus as Son and
Brother, the Church as Mother, and other Christians as our brothers and sisters. The
way we act in our family relationships tells others a lot about the God we worship. St.
John Paul II and Pope Francis teach us the family is the first and most important
school of love and mercy! Center your family on the model of the Trinity; on God’s
loving and life-giving relationships.
It is not too late to register for Vacation Bible School. VBS begins
Monday, June 17 – Friday the 21 and runs from 9-noon daily. You can
register your child Monday at 9:00am in the front hallway by the SAC.
Don’t miss out on this fun adventure.

The Mission of the Catholic Diocese of Butare in Rwanda

This weekend we welcome Fr. Andrew Muliika a Missionary of Butare in Rwanda. Rwanda is a
small country situated in the middle of Africa that in 1994 experienced a horrific genocide that was
politically motivated during which one million people were murdered in approximately 100 days. The
genocide left behind many broken hearted like orphans, widows, traumatized..., and many destroyed
infrastructures like schools, medical centers, even churches. The good news is that, now there is peace
and security in the country. The challenge is to rebuild the nation and to help people in the process of
healing.
The mission of the Diocese of Butare is focused on Catholic education, teaching the youth
unconditional love, peace and reconciliation so that the country may heal and experience a brighter
future. These efforts have made a great difference in the hope of the Rwandans and have contributed
tremendously to the building of a new Rwanda we see today. The Catholic Faith in Rwanda is strong and
there are many holy vocations. Today, 60% of the country’s population is Catholics. The financial
support from you, our brothers and sisters in Christ, will help us to build more classrooms, to buy school
supplies, and it will enable us to carry on our mission of making the love of Christ known and felt to the
people of Rwanda. Thank you for your generous support and may God bless you abundantly.

Barberton Area Community Ministry item for the Month of June is Macaroni & Cheese.
All donations can be placed in the bench in front of the giving tree in the vestibule of the

Charitable Giving Ideas for 2019 - Did you know that gifting appreciated stock (held more than
one year) to a charitable organization such as Catholic Charities or your parish may allow you to
deduct the stock’s full value and bypass capital gains tax? In addition, if you are 70 ½ or older,
you may be able to reduce your taxable income this year with a gift made directly from your IRA
to a qualified charity such as Catholic Charities or your parish. Your accountant or IRA
administrator can help you understand how the IRA Charitable Rollover works and the particular
steps you can take to lower your taxes and help Catholic Charities, your parish or a diocesan
ministry. Learn more by contacting Sandy Lucas of the Catholic Community Foundation at
