Analyze the Three Little Pigs

There are four components of 4c; communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and
creativity. In this activity, the student is going to read the three little pigs and then re-tell it by
using construction of each of pig’s houses. The methods that used in this activity is gamification
and natural approach. In communication, students are going to sharing their thoughts and ideas
with their friend. The communication in this activity also occur when the students given
opportunity by the teacher to re-tell the story by using playful construction media in front of their
friend. So, the students will have experience to speak and present the story.
The second components is collaboration. The students will learning and working together
with their friends to construct the pig’s house. So, they can share information and help each
other. It will make the students respect each other in order to work collaboratively.
The third components is critical thinking. In this case, the critical thinking of students
occur when they listen to the teacher’s story about three little pigs. They will think of what are
the information they have listen then they trying to analyze it in order to get deeper
understanding of what the story about, and what will they get and learn from the story. So, the
students will get deeper analytical abilities.
The last component is creativity. This activity is something new for the students in sense
they get new innovation. Student’s creativity occur when the creating the pig’s houses. They will
use their imagination and ideas when constructing the houses. So, the students will think
creatively to connect of what they listen and what they want to construct.
Pedagogy Expert (2nd)
Viewed from types of activity in this case, the main purposed of the learning is to
improve the creativity and direct-self of the student through presentation and doing the game.
However, it could not be effective tool of learning language if the students just only focusing
finished the game without any meaningful understanding for learning language effectively. Using
gamification method is a meaningful way for developing student’s language understanding
through game-based learning which is combining education and entertainment.
On the other hand gamification is suitable for young learner because make thing not only
more fun but also to be more productive by encouraging the students to progress through the
content, motivate action and eventually influence the learner’s behavioral. Another method that
can be applied is natural approach. In the other hand this method helping to improve their
language from beginner to be intermediate level. In this learning activity the teacher purposed
improving student’s communication ability while creating pig’s house.
The natural approach that used In this case appear while the teacher read the story and the
student must retell the story. In this case, the student as the receiver must repeat what the
students has been told by using their own language while constructing pig’s house. In the process
of learning the student can comprehend more and get the message meaningfully because the
teacher makes the learning activity more attractively with the gesture and the expression.so, it
makes easy to memorize the material.

Role of teachers: Facilitator &Mentoring, The teachers in that task prepare the material
for the students like the text, Wikki Stix, craft sticks, paper bricks etc. Beside that the teachers
also try encourage students to strive to be the best they can by asking them to read the story the
three little pigs and then retell the story through playful construction of each of the pig’s houses.
This also includes encouraging students to enjoy learning that give them the opportunity to doing
action by practicing what they have understood.
Role of student: Be active participant, the students be expected to be more active learners.
That task encourage students more comprehend the material by reading and applying it by
creating something related with the text. It provided that the students not only understand the
material but also give the real activity for their understanding.
Role of materials: Student Learning Support, The material in that task increase the
students understanding by the text and also the the picture and other material that support the
students. The pig’s houses provide a student with important opportunities to retell the story. This
process aids in the learning process by allowing the student to explore the knowledge
independently as well as providing repetition.
Language Expert

Based on the text, the activity that we can do is reading, storytelling and retell the story
based on their words. Students for sure read the text, when they do wrong pronunciation,
automatically teacher will correct word pronunciation and it makes students understand good
pronunciation. Second is storytelling, students will speak like drama depends on the text and
situation. The final activity is retell the story, students retell the story with simple sentences and
their own words. The aim is to show their confidence in the friends.

Those activities appear that we can see the language competences are reading skills,
speaking skills through storytelling and retell the story with simple sentences and use their own
words.
