QUICK ESTIMATES OF INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

(BASE 2004-05) FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL, 2014

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


April, 2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by
the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra
Pradesh, Hyderabad.

The major observations of IIP for the month April, 2014:

1. The General Index for the month of April 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 4 9 . 8 which is hi g h e r b y 1.5% when compared with the month of April
2013. The General Index at All India level for the same month stands at
122.0 which is higher by 3.4% when compared with the month of April,
2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors for the month of April, 2014 in
Andhra Pradesh stands at 138.7, 149.8 and 164.5 respectively with
the corresponding growth being (-)9.0%, 5.2% and 1.8% respectively,
when compared with the month of April, 2013. The Indices of
Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and
Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of April, 2014 stands
at 122.0, 180.7 and 178.1 respectively with the corresponding growth of
1.2%, 2.6% and 11 . 9 % as compared to April, 2013.
3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity
sectors in Andhra Pradesh during the period upto April , 2014 are
(-)9.0%, 5.2% and 1.8% respectively resulting the growth of General Index
being 1.5%. The Cumulative growth at all India level during the
period upto April, 2014 are 1.2%, 2.6% and 11. 9 % respectively resulting
the growth of General Index being 3.4%.
Trend of IIP during April, 2014 at Industry group level :

Thirteen manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for


the month of April, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding
month of previous year. They are ‘Tanning and Dressing of Leather & Products’
with 27.3%, ‘Medical, Precision and Optical’ with 27.0%, ‘Food Products &
Beverages’ with 17.2%, ‘Coke, Refined Petroleum’ with 16.4%, ‘Office, Accounting
& Computing Machinery’ with 16.3%, ‘Electrical Machinery and Parts’ with 13.3%,
‘Basic Metals’ with 12.9%, ‘Chemicals and Chemical Fertilisers’ with 12.8%,
‘Fabricated Metal Products’ with 12.6%, ‘Textiles’ with 10.4%, ‘Other Transport
Equipment’ with 9.8%, ‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’ with 6.4% and
‘Furniture, Manufacturing N.E.C’ with 2.0%. The remaining eight industry groups
showing negative growth are ‘Motor Vehicles, Trailers’ with (-)18.1%, ‘Other Non-
Metallic Minerals’ with (-)16.2%, ‘Rubber and Plastic Products’ with (-)15.0%,
‘Tobacco Products’ with (-)14.8%, ‘Radio, Television’ with (-)13.5%, ‘Machinery
and Equipment’ with (-)10.4%, ‘Wood and Products of Wood & Cork’ with
(-)9.9%, ‘Paper and Paper Products’ with (-)7.4% and ‘Publishing, Printing and
Reproduction of Recorded Media’ with (-)3.5%.

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


May,2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by
the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra
Pradesh, Hyderabad.

The major observations of IIP for the month May,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of May 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 5 9 . 7 which is hi g h e r b y 0.7% when compared with the month of May
2013. The General Index at All India level for the same month stands at
173.8 which is higher by 4.7% when compared with the month of May,
2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors for the month of May,2014 in
Andhra Pradesh stands at 196.3, 149.1 and 152.6 respectively with
the corresponding growth being 3.6%, 3.3% and (-)12.6% respectively,
when compared with the month of May, 2013. The Indices of
Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and
Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of May,2014 stands
at 125.6, 181.6 and 183.2 respectively with the corresponding growth
of 2.7%, 4.8% and 6. 3% as compared to May, 2013.
3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity
sectors in Andhra Pradesh during the period upto May , 2014 are (-)2.0%,
4.2% and (-)5.6% respectively resulting the growth of General Index
being 1.1%. The Cumulative growth at all India level during the
period upto May,2014 are 2.6%, 3.7% and 9 . 0% respectively resulting the
growth of General Index being 4.0%.
Trend of IIP during May,2014 at Industry group level :

Eleven manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the
month of May, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding
month of previous year. They are ‘Basic Metals’ with 19.6%, ‘Food Products &
Beverages’ with 13.8%, ‘Chemicals and Chemical Fertilisers’ with 13.3%, ‘Textiles’
with 10.9%, ‘Tanning and Dressing of Leather & Products’ with 9.0%, ‘Medical,
Precision and Optical’ with 7.4%, ‘Coke,Refined Petroleum’ with 7.2%, ‘Electrical
Machinery and Parts’ with 5.0%, ‘Fabricated Metal Products’ with 4.5%, ‘Furniture,
Manufacturing n.e.c’ with 1.2%, ‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’ with
0.9%. The remaining eleven industry groups showing negative growth are ‘Rubber
and Plastic Products’ with (-)36.0%, ‘Motor Vehicles, Trailers’ with (-)22.3%,
‘Machinery and Equipment’ with (-)14.5%, ‘Radio, Television’ with (-)13.8%,
‘Tobacco Products’ with (-)12.9%, ‘Publishing, Printing and Reproduction of

June2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by
the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra
Pradesh, Hyderabad.

The major observations of IIP for the month June2014:

1. The General Index for the month of June 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 3 9 . 8 which is hi g h e r b y -4.4 % when compared with the month of June 2013.
The General Index at All India level for the same month stands at 170.8 which is
less 3.4% when compared with the month of June, 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of June,2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands
at 156.2, 150.5 and 74.4 respectively with the corresponding growth being
5.2%, 5.4% and (-)52.5% respectively, when compared with the month of
June, 2013. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of
June,2014 stands at 121.5 178.2 and 181.6 respectively with the corresponding
growth of 4.3%, 1 .8 % and 1 5 . 7% as compared to June, 2013.

3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors
in Andhra Pradesh during the period upto June, 2014 are 0.2%, 4.6% and (-
)20.5% respectively resulting the growth of General Index being -0.7%. The
Cumulative growth at all India level during the period upto June ,2014 are
3.2%, 3. 1% and 11 . 3 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being
3.9%.

QUICK ESTIMATES OF INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
(BASE 2004-05) FOR THE MONTH OF July 2014

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


July,2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by the
Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad.

The major observations of IIP for the month July,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of July 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at 1 5 5 . 4
which is hi g h e r b y 4.9% when compared with the month of July 2013. The General
Index at All India level for the same month stands at 172.3 which is higher by 0.5%
when compared with the month of July, 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of July ,2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands
at 163.0, 153.9and 151.3 respectively with the corresponding growth being -
1.3%, 6.5% and 8.1% respectively, when compared with the month of July,
2013. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of July
2014 stands at 118.5 180.8 and 183.8 respectively with the corresponding growth
of 2.1%, -1 . 0% and 1 1 . 7% as compared to July , 2013.

3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity


sectors in Andhra Pradesh during the period upto July , 2014 are (-)0.1%, 6.1%
and (-)0.9% respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 3.5%. The
Cumulative growth at all India level during the period upto July,2014 are 2.8%,
2 . 3% and 1 1 . 4 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 3.3%.
Trend of IIP during July,2014 at Industry group level :

Eleven manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the month
of July, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of previous
year. They are ‘Medical, Precision and Optical with 88.7%, ‘Food Products & Beverages’
with 78.8%, ‘Tobacco Products’ with 47.3%, ‘Radio, Television with 22.7%, ‘Other Non-
Metallic Minerals with 18.0%, ‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’ with
10.4%Furniture, Manufacturing N.E.C with 10.3%, Coke, Refined Petroleum’ with 8.3%,
Motor Vehicles, Trailers’ with 7.4% Office, Accounting & Computing Machinery with 4.5%
and Electrical Machinery and Parts’ with 2.7%,.
The remaining eleven industry groups showing negative growth are ‘Tanning and Dressing
of Leather & Products with (-)56.7% Rubber and Plastic Products with (-)34.4%

Publishing, Printing an d Reproduction of Recorded Media with (-) 32.9%,Paper and Paper
Products with (-)24.5%,‘Machinery and Equipment’ with (-)23.1%, Textiles (-)15.4%

‘Other Transport Equipment’ with (-)14.1% Chemicals and Chemical Fertilizers with (-
13.4%Basic Metals with (-)10.0% Wood and Products of Wood & Cork with (-)8.9% and

Fabricated Metal Products with (-)6.9%

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


August,2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by the
Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad.

The major observations of IIP for the month August,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of August 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 5 6 . 0 which is hi g h e r b y 7.3% when compared with the month of August 2013. The
General Index at All India level for the same month stands at 166.1 which is higher
by 0.4% when compared with the month of August, 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of August ,2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands
at 150.4, 157.1, 159.10 respectively with the corresponding growth being 11.2%,
7.7%,1.2% respectively, when compared with the month of August, 2013. The
Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and
Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of August 2014 stands at
116.6,172.9, and 184.1 respectively with the corresponding growth of 2.6%, -
1 . 4% and 1 2 . 9 % as compared to August , 2013.
3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period upto August , 2014 are 1.8%, 6.4% and (-)0.5%
respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 4.2%. The Cumulative
growth at all India level during the period upto August,2014 are 2.5%, 1. 8%
and 1 1 . 7 respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.8%.
4. Tend of IIP during August,2014 at Industry group level :

Twelve manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the month
of August, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of previous
year. They are ‘Tobacco products’ with 94.7%,’Medical, Precision and Optical’ with
90.9%,’Food Products & Beverages’ with 78.4%,’Furniture, Manufacturing N.E.C’ with
20.6%,’Electrical Machinery’ and Parts with 17.6%, ‘Radio, Television’ with 16.3%,’Motor
Vehicles, Trailers’ with 12.7%, ‘Other Transport Equipment’ with 10.9%, ‘Chemicals and
Chemicals and Chemical Fertilizers’ with 10.8%, ‘Coke, Refined Petroleum’ with 7.6%,
‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur ‘with 6.8%,and ‘Other Non-Metallic Minerals’
with 2.8%.
The remaining ten industry groups showing negative growth are ‘Tanning and
Dressing of Leather products with’(-)59.7%,’Machinery and equipment’ (-)50.4%,
‘Rubber and Plastic Products’ with ( -)38.4%, ‘Wood and Products of Wood & Cork’ with

QUICK ESTIMATES OF INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
(BASE 2004-05) FOR THE MONTH OF September 2014

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


September ,2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by
the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad.

The major observations of IIP for the month September ,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of September 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 4 9 . 8 which is hi g h e r b y 0.6% when compared with the month of September 2013.
The General Index at All India level for the same month stands at 171.7 which is
higher by 2.5% when compared with the month of September , 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of September ,2014 in Andhra Pradesh
stands at 164.5,141.6,163.0 respectively with the corresponding growth being
3.0%, (-)1.7%,5.6% respectively, when compared with the month of
September , 2013. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of
September 2014 stands at 116.0,181.6 and 175.6 respectively with the
corresponding growth of 0.7%, 2. 5% and 3 . 9% as compared to September ,
2013.
3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period upto September , 2014 are 2.0%, 5.0% and
0.5% respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 3.6%. The Cumulative
growth at all India level during the period upto September ,2014 are 2.1%,
2 . 0% and 1 0 . 4 respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.8%.
4. Tend of IIP during September ,2014 at Industry group level :

Eleven manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the month
of September, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Furniture, Manufacturing N.E.C’ with 68.6%,’ Electrical Machinery
and Parts’ with 41.1%, Textiles’ with 35.8 %, ‘Coke ,Refined Petroleum’ with 27.5%,
‘Radio, Television’ with 24.4%, ‘Food Products & Beverages’ with 23.6%,’ Publishing,
Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media’ with 20.2%, ‘Motor Vehicles, Trailers’ with
12.7%, ‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’ with 10.1%, ‘Tobacco Products’ with
9.5%, and ‘Office, Accounting & Computing Machinery ‘with 0.4%.
The remaining Eleven industry groups showing negative growth are ‘Tanning and
Dressing of Leather products with’(-)41.8%,’ ‘Wood and Products of Wood & Cork’ with
(-)39.9% ‘Fabricated Metal Products’ with (-)39.5%, ‘Paper and Paper Products’ with
(-)35.3%, ‘Other Non-Metallic Minerals’ with (-)31.8% ‘Medical, Precision and Optical ‘with
(-)30.1% ‘Basic Metal's’ with (-)16.9%, ‘Rubber and Plastic Products’ with ( -)16.4%,
‘Machinery and Equipment’ with (-)14.3%, ‘Chemicals and Chemical Fertilizers’, with
(-)4.7%, and ‘Other Transport Equipment’ with (-)0.2%.

The major observations of IIP for the month October ,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of October 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 5 6 . 6 which is hi g h e r b y 7.0% when compared with the month of October 2013.
The General Index at All India level for the same month stands at 162.4 which is
less by (-)4.2% when compared with the month of October , 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of October ,2014 in Andhra Pradesh
stands at 175.7, 149.3 and 160.0 respectively with the corresponding growth
being 6.4%, 5.4% and 15.0% respectively, when compared with the month of
October, 2013. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of October
2014 stands at 125.0, 166.4 and 184.2 respectively with the corresponding
growth of 5.2%, -7. 6% and 1 3 . 3 % as compared to October, 2013.
3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period upto October , 2014 are 2.6%, 5.0% and 2.3%
respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 4.1%. The Cumulative
growth at all India level during the period upto October ,2014 are 2.4%, 0. 7%
and 1 0 . 7 respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 1.9%.

Trend of IIP during October ,2014 at Industry group level :

Twelve manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the month
of October, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Radio, Television’ with 66.1%, ’Furniture, Manufacturing n.e.c’
with 40.4%, ’Tobacco Products’ with 39.3%, ’Food Products & Beverages’ with 25.5,
’Electrical Machinery and Parts’ with 22.5%, ’Textiles’ with 16.6%, ’Publishing, Printing
and Reproduction of Recorded Media’ with 15.0%, ’Basic Metals’ with 12.2%, ’Other
Transport Equipment’ with 8.8%, ’Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’ with 5.9%,
’Other Non-Metallic Minerals’ with 3.3% and ’Coke, Refined Petroleum’ with 2.9%.

The major observations of IIP for the month November ,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of November 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 5 0 . 7 which is higher b y 0.3% when compared with the month of November 2013.
The General Index at All India level for the same month stands at. 169.8 which is
higher by 3.8% when compared with the month of November, 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of November ,2014 in Andhra Pradesh
stands at 161.2, 146.4 and 154.2 respectively with the corresponding growth
being (-)9.6%, 2.2% and 10.5% respectively, when compared with the month
of November, 2013. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining &
Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month
of November 2014 stands at 127.9, 177.0 and 174.3 respectively with the
corresponding growth of 3.4%, 3 .0 % and 1 0 . 0 % as compared to November, 2013.
3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period upto November, 2014 are 0.9%, 4.7% and 3.3%
respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 3.6%. The Cumulative
growth at all India level during the period upto November ,2014 are 2.5%,
1 . 1% and 1 0 . 7 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.2%.

Trend of IIP during November ,2014 at Industry group level :

Eight manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the month
of November, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Tobacco Products with 74.7%, ’Furniture, Manufacturing n.e.c’
with 35.8%, Food Products & Beverages with 34.5%, Electrical Machinery and Parts with
34.0%, Other Non-Metallic Minerals’ with 29.8%, ’ Coke, Refined Petroleum’ with 20.9%,
‘Publishing, Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media’ with 10.5%,and Radio,
Television ’ with 7.1%.
The remaining Fourteen industry groups showing negative growth are ‘Rubber and
Plastic Products’ with (-)-36.3%, ‘Machinery and Equipment’ with (-)30.2%, ‘Wood and
Products of Wood & Cork with (-)29.3%, ‘Paper and Paper Products’ with (-)28.2%,
‘Medical, Precision and Optical’ with (-)23.8%, ‘Machinery and Equipment with (-)16.5%,
‘Basic Metals with (-)15.3%, ‘Other Transport Equipment’ with (-)15.2%, ‘Fabricated Metal
Products’ with (-)12.9% Tanning and Dressing of Leather & Products’(-)11.1% ‘Textiles’
with (-)5.0% Office, Accounting & Computing Machinery’(-)2.2% Motor Vehicles with(-)1.4
%, and ‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur with (-)0.8%.

(BASE 2004-05) FOR THE MONTH OF December 2014

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


December, 2014 for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by the
Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad.
The major observations of IIP for the month December ,2014:

1. The General Index for the month of December 2014 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 5 9 . 9 which is less b y -1.4% when compared with the month of December 2013. The
General Index at All India level for the same month stands at. 182.6 which is higher
by 1.7% when compared with the month of December, 2013.
2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of December, 2014 in Andhra Pradesh
stands at 176.7, 154.9 and 157.3 respectively with the corresponding growth
being (-)8.4%, 0.3% and 4.0% respectively, when compared with the month of
December, 2013. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of
December 2014 stands at 131.6, 192.9 and 177.6 respectively with the
corresponding growth of -3.2%, 2. 1% and 4 . 8% as compared to December, 2013.

3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period upto December, 2014 are(-) 0.1%, 4.2% and
3.3% respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 3.1%. The Cumulative
growth at all India level during the period upto December ,2014 are 1.7%,
1 . 2% and 1 0 . 0 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.1%.

Five manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the month of
December, 2014 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Food Products & Beverages’ with 61.2%, ’Electrical Machinery
and parts’ with 39.9%, ‘Furniture, manufacturing nec’ with 17.8%, ‘Coke Refined
Petroleum’ with 6.3% and ‘Tobacco Products’ with 1.5%.,
The remaining Seventeen industry groups showing negative growth are ‘Machinery
and Equipment’ with (-)41.5%, ‘Motor Vehicles, Trailers with (-)37.5%’, Medical, Precision
and Optical with (-)34.1%, ‘Wood and Products of Wood & Cork’ with (-) 33.7%,
‘Publishing, Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media’ with (-) 30.8%, ‘Fabricated
Metal Products’ with (-) 25.0%, ‘Basic Metals’ with (-)23.9%, ‘Textiles’ with (-) 18.8%,

stands at 169.6, 164.2 and 169.3 respectively with the corresponding growth
being (-)10.4%, 7.6% and -0.2% respectively, when compared with the month
of January 2014. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of
January,2015 stands at 135.3, 200.5 and 175.8 respectively with the
corresponding growth of -2.8%, 3. 3% and 2 . 7% as compared to January, 2014.

Andhra Pradesh during the period upto January 2015 are (-)1.3%, 4.5% and 3.0%
respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.9%. The Cumulative
growths at all India level during the period upto January, 2015 are 1.3%,
1 . 7% and 9 . 3 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.5%.

The twelve manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the
month of January 2015 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Radio, Television’ with 40.8%, Tanning and dressing of leather
and products’ with 39.6%, ‘Furniture, manufacturing nec’ with 39.2%, ‘Food products and
beverages’ with 39.1% and ‘Tobacco Products’ with 27.5%.,’Electrical machinery and
parts’ with 26.9%,’Textiles with 14.7%,’Other non-metallic minerals’ with 14.5%,’Other
transport equipment’ 13.6%,’Office accounting and computing machinery’ with 10.8%,
Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’ with 5.9%.,and ‘Rubber and plastic products’
with 4.7%.

QUICK ESTIMATES OF INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
(BASE 2004-05) FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2015

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of


February 2015, for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by the
Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad.
The major observations of IIP for the month FEBRUARY 2015:

1. The General Index for the month of February 2015 in Andhra Pradesh stands at
1 5 7 . 6 which is more b y 2.0% when compared with the month of February, 2014. The
General Index at All India level for the same month stands at. 181.3 which is higher
by 5.0% when compared with the month of February, 2014.

2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of February, 2015 in Andhra Pradesh
stands at 195.3, 144.3 and 160.2 respectively with the corresponding growth
being 0.4%, 2.8% and 1.7% respectively, when compared with the month of
February 2014. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of
February, 2015 stands at 130.7, 192.9 and 166.0 respectively with the
corresponding growth of 2.5%, 5 .2 % and 5 . 9 % as compared to February, 2014.

3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period up to February 2015 are (-)1.1%, 4.4% and 2.8%
respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.9%. The Cumulative
growths at all India level during the period upto February, 2015 are 1.5%,
2 . 2% and 9 . 1 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.8%.

Trend of IIP during February 2015 at Industry group level :

The Fourteen manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the
month of February 2015 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Furniture, Manufacturing N.E.C’ with 42.5%, ‘Textiles’ with
41.2%, ‘Tanning and Dressing of Leather & Products’ with 35.5%, ‘Other Transport
Equipment’ with 18.4% and ‘Paper and Paper Products’ with 16.6%.,‘Rubber and Plastic
Products ‘with 15.9%,’Tobacco Products’ with 13.6%,’Electrical Machinery and Parts’ with
12.3%, ‘Office, Accounting & Computing Machinery ‘9.8%,Other Non-Metallic Minerals with
9.6%, ‘Coke, Refined Petroleum’ with 9.5%, ‘Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur’
with 3.9%., ‘Basic Metals’ with 1.7% and Radio, Television with 1.2%.
The remaining eight industry groups showing negative growth are’ Publishing,
Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media’ with (-) 23.5%, ‘Machinery and Equipment’
with (-)17.6%’, ‘Wood and Products of Wood & Cork’ with (-) 14.8%, ‘Fabricated Metal
Products’ with (-)12.4%,‘ Motor Vehicles, Trailers’ with (-) 12.1%, ‘Medical, Precision and
Optical’ with (-)9.0%, ‘Chemicals and Chemical Fertilizers’ with (-)5.0%, ‘Food Products &
Beverages’ with (-)4.2%.

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production for the month of March
2015, for Andhra Pradesh State have been compiled and released by the
Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad.
The major observations of IIP for the month March 2015:

1. The General Index for the month of March 2015 in Andhra Pradesh stands at 1 8 7 . 4
which is more b y 4.3% when compared with the month of March, 2014. The General
Index at All India level for the same month stands at 197.3 which is higher by
2.1% when compared with the month of March, 2014.

2. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing
and Electricity Sectors for the month of March, 2015 in Andhra Pradesh stands
at 285.4, 155.8 and 182.1 respectively with the corresponding growth being
4.8%, 3.5% and 6.1% respectively, when compared with the month of March
2014. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining & Quarrying,
Manufacturing and Electricity Sectors at All India level for the month of March,
2015 stands at 148.5, 209.3 and 176.4 respectively with the corresponding
growth of 0.9%, 2. 2 % and 2 . 0 % as compared to March, 2014.

3. The cumulative growth of Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors in
Andhra Pradesh during the period upto March 2015 are (-)0.3%, 4.3% and 3.1%
respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 3.0%. The Cumulative
growth at all India level during the period upto March, 2015 are 1.4%, 2.3 %
and 8 . 4 % respectively resulting the growth of General Index being 2.8%.

Trend of IIP during March 2015 at Industry group level :

The Thirteen manufacturing industrial groups have shown positive growth for the
month of March 2015 out of 22 groups, when compared to the corresponding month of
previous year. They are ‘Furniture, Manufacturing N.E.C’ with 39.7%, Rubber and Plastic
Products with 39.1%, Coke, Refined Petroleum with 30.9%, Radio, Television with 26.4%,
Electrical Machinery and Parts with 16.5%, Food Products & Beverages with 13.5%, Office,
Accounting & Computing Machinery with 12.2%, Publishing, Printing an d Reproduction of
Recorded Media with 11.4%, Chemicals and Chemical Fertilisers with 6.4%, Tobacco
Products with 4.5%, Paper and Paper Products with 2.1%, Motor Vehicles, Trailers with
1.4%, Wearing Apparel, Dressing & Dying of Fur with 0.9%.
The remaining nine industry groups showing negative growth are Machinery and
Equipment with (-)35.8, Fabricated Metal Products with (-)24.0, Medical, Precision and
