My short story is entitled “My friend’s story”.

The story started during the childhood days

of the speaker with her best friend. During her childhood she describes nature as

beautiful, from the sky, to the leaves to the flower, butterflies and water. She also

mentioned her finest toys were the leaves, stems, and the forest.

The problem of the story started when the child and her best friend changes into a

curious little girl, this time they started learning many things. But they are not learning all

the time. This is the most enjoyable time of their life. They played the most enjoyable

games that they can think of. This is also the time that she gained friends and playmates.

Once more the curious little girls turned into a young lady. During the stage, the speaker

is looking for her one true love. So they started mingling with the young ones. They were

able to meet a guy named Bruce whom she fall in love with and get married.

The next change of her life is when she turned into a middle-aged woman. This stage of

her life was the time that she needs to work hard because she has her family to feed. But

her husband is with her also they are very busy tilting the fields, cutting down the trees,

carrying burdens and working very hard. They noticed that the day is beginning to

decline and the sunset is approaching. This symbolizes of their old age. They also

noticed that their hair is turning grey but they could not rest long because they had a job

to do.

Once more the speaker and her best friend transform from middle-aged woman to an old

woman. And they decided to just sit down and face the sunset remembering the

memories they did in the past. The speaker ended the story by revealing her best friend

as herself because this is what we should do to ourselves, to be our own company and

our own best friend from the childhood days until our old age.
