A.I.

The theme of movie "A.I." is the relationship between human and artificial

intelligence for three reasons.

First, artificial intelligence replaces the human's role in the movie. Monica feels

lonely because her son gets ill and in the hospital, so her husband decides to buy

an artificial intelligence robot David who can replace her son's role. And Professor

Hobby who invented David models his dead son when he made David, and when

David is left out by Monica, he wants David to live together and replace his son's

role. Second, artificial intelligence wants to be a human in the movie. The

protagonist of the movie, David is the robot which want to get his mother's love.

David truly love his human mother, Monica. But after Monica's son get well,

Monica's all attention is toward her son and David feels lonely. So he thinks when

he becomes human, he will be loved by Monica. So when he listened to the fairy

tale "Pinocchio", he wants to find "Blue Fairy" in the real world, who can make

Pinocchio into human in the fairy tale. Third, artificial intelligence is not inferior to

human in the movie. When David goes to the Rouge City, he meets many kinds of
robots which resemble human and act like real human. They seem to have real

emotions. But they are killed by humans because of their fake body. This scene

shows human's cruelty and inhumane aspects. And sometimes A.I. seem to have

more humanity than real human.

In brief, the movie "A.I." tells us about the relationship between human and artificial

intelligence.
