Shutterfly Photo Book Usability Questions
To access the RLO either:
1) Go to this URL: https://jburt788.github.io/ShutterflyBurt/
OR
2) Go to this google drive link and download the zip file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/18w2i5036RfGnlzSDvlrFa6yQ4MVxTUEs/view?usp=sharing
3) Extract it and double click on index-scorm.html to launch the RLO (click OK to ignore the error
about the LMS)
Before you go through the instruction, answer these questions:
1. How are you accessing the RLO (URL or zip file)? URL
2. If you’re using the URL, what browser are you using (Chrome, Edge, IE, Firefox)? Safari
3. If you know, what’s your screen size/resolution? 13.3-inch (2560 x 1600)
As you go through the instruction, answer these questions:
1. If you need help learning how to navigate the RLO, where do you click? Question Mark- upper
right
2.
3. If you want to view the contents included in the instruction, where do you click? TOC- in the
bottom right
4. On the Page Layout Button slide (the one showing how to click the Layouts button), how do you
advance to the next slide? Click start to begin
5. What (if anything) about the navigation is confusing, unintuitive, or hard to find? The buttons
make it very easy to understand and navigate.
a. When (if ever) were you unsure what to do next? After choosing one of the topics (filter
layouts, select layouts or try it out) it’s a little confusing on where to go next. The options
are summary or back. Can there be a next option? Although, the user can go to the TOB
at any point.
b. Are you surprised by where any buttons take you? If so, which ones and where did you
expect them to go? The buttons seemed to work perfectly and took me where I thought I
should go.
6. What parts of the instructional content (if any) are difficult to follow? Everything was easy to
follow except the narration; it distracted me a bit. I’m sure it is helpful for most people and
valuable for compliancy. I also know it takes a lot of work to include and it’s all in the correct
places and really well done. I just find it almost distracting because there is no voice inflection to
make it easy to listen to without falling asleep. This might be an issue only for people with ADD
7. Is it clear how to answer all the quiz questions (even if the answer isn’t clear)? If not, which are
confusing? It was a little tricky at first just figuring out the clicks which ones were legitimate. Is it
the target or the clicks where nothing happens? Once I figured that out it was much easier. The
directions were good. Maybe an example simulated question/answer to get us started?
8. Is the feedback on the quiz questions appropriate and helpful? Yes, and concise.
9. Could you correctly answer all the quiz questions based on this instruction? If not, which
questions did you have trouble with? The practice layout exercise wouldn’t work for me. I tried
clicking on the 2 and everywhere else on the second page with no luck. It did show me after a
couple tries, which was nice.
10. Did the Review button go where you expected it to? Yes, and it was nice to have that option
throughout
11. Would you change the volume of the voiceover? If so, would you make it louder or quieter? I
wouldn’t change it. Everyone can use their volume buttons to personalize it.
After you complete the instruction (including the assessment), answer these questions:
1. After you completed the RLO (so you made it to either the “Congratulations” or “Page Layout
Summary” slide), did you want to get back to the instructional content? I did because I wanted
to see if I missed anything after the test.
2. Did you find the written summaries on the Filter Layouts and Select a Layout slides? Yes, and
when I had my screen smaller a little tab appeared to click making the text pop up at the top of
the screen. It was very helpful.
3. Are there any spelling/grammar errors or anything that isn’t working technically (Buttons that
you can’t click, cutoff voiceovers, captions that don’t match the voiceover, etc.)? early on there
was one spot where there was a bit of cutoff narration. I don’t think it was significant
4. Were there any colors or images that seemed distracting or out of place? It was very white,
nothing distracting. I’m not sure if a different background color would help your material pop out
more or not.
5. What other general feedback do you have about this RLO? Anything that stood out as
particularly good or needing improvement? It could be the size of my screen but during the
practice exercise it was kind of hard to see the pages clearly, like the layout tab for example. It
just seemed far away. I wouldn’t recommend having people use their phones for this RLO. The
pages are very skewed. I had the same problem.
This is a great RLO. Well done!! -Lisa Wolfcale
