highly sought after element. Its qualities are in
its colour, resistance, density, and texture. It is
no wonder that gold medals are given as a prize
to the greats. However, in the Bible, gold has an
even more wonderful significance. Gold signi-
fies the divine nature of God.
The nature of God is found in the life of God.
Only the life of God is real and genuine. Just as
a gilded object has the outward appearance of
gold but lacks the reality of the content, so the
other kinds of life in the universe cannot be
compared to the real life (1 Timothy 6:19). They
are mortal and changeable. They are not eternal,
nor are they divine.
Only the life of God is divine and eternal, im-
mortal and unchangeable, impossible to be held
by death, indestructible and indissoluble (Acts
