How do I delete a friend request?

When you delete a friend request, the person who sent you the request won't be notified and can't
send you another request for one year. To permanently stop that person from sending you
another friend request, you can block them.

To delete a friend request:

1 Go to facebook.com/find­friends.

2 Click Delete Request.

How do I remove or cancel a friend request I sent to someone?

To cancel a friend request you sent:

1 Go to your sent friend requests.

2 Hover over  Friend Request Sent next to the request you'd like to cancel.

3 Select Cancel Request > Cancel Request.

I can't add someone as a friend.

You may not be able to add someone as a friend if:

• They set their privacy settings to get friend requests only from friends of friends. Ask them to
send you a request instead.

• You already sent them a friend request. Give them some time to respond to the request.

• You already have 5,000 friends. If you need to connect with more than 5,000 people, you can
change your personal account to a Facebook Page.

• You've blocked them. To send a friend request to someone you've blocked, you need to
unblock them first.

Note: If requests you send go unanswered or are reported as unwelcome, you may be blocked
from sending friend requests.

Note: you can only have up to 5,000 friends. To get updates in your News Feed from people you
don't know personally (example: journalists, celebrities, political figures), try following them
instead of sending them friend requests.

To see the friendship page for you and a friend:

1 Go to your friend's profile.

2 Click   over their cover photo.

3 Click See Friendship.

If you’ve added a relationship to your profile, you can go to facebook.com/us to see the friendship
page for you and the person you're in a relationship with.

How do I suggest a friend to someone?

To suggest a friend to someone, you need to be friends with both the person you're suggesting
and the person you're suggesting them to.

To suggest a friend to someone:

1 From your friend's profile, click Friends.

2 Click Suggest Friends.

3 Click Suggest Friend next to the friend you want to suggest. To find a friend, enter their
name in the Search box.

Both friends will get an invitation to add the other person as their friend.
