The following information, written by the student, provides an overview of the project proposal as planned. ‘Student: Navya Krishna Date: June 6, 2019 ‘Title: Cardiology and Pregnancy: Addressing maternal mortality in the United States Purpose: To find and advocate for the most effective solution for maternal mortality from cardiovascular disease in the United States, Outcome: This information will be sent to a variety of sources so that many people will have access to i. More research will be done in this field because this problem is only recently garnering national interest, and states and groups of people should conduct initiatives to address this issue. ‘Novelty of Product: Many people do not consider the toll that pregnancy takes on the heart, so people often don’t think to look for cardie problems. Cardiovascular disease is also not the leading cause of maternal ‘mortality, so there hasn’t been much focus on it up until this point. Audience: Women, both pregnant and planning to get pregnant, women with heart conditions, obstetricians, cardiologists, primary care physicians and women’s health clinics. Because the most effective way of preventing maternal mortality from cardiovascular disease is preventive care, women and their partners should know to seek out health care professionals before or while they are pregnant.
