The information in this file and in the Help system is more up-to-date than that in the manuals.
Upwards compatibility
Project files (*.CAR) are upwards compatible: they can be used in more recent releases. However, after saving, they can
not be used anymore in an older release.
Installing Calculux
In order to install Calculux correctly, please stop all other applications before starting the installation.
Calculux Area 5.0b is an upgrade of Calculux Area 4.5c. Major changes are:
Addition of Visibility Level Calculations when correct encrypted file is present.
Support for MS Access 2000 Calculux databases
Note that it may be necessary to enable Multilanguage Support. In Windows 98, choose 'Add/Remove Programs' in the
Control Panel, go to 'Windows Setup' and enable 'Multilanguage Support'. In Windows NT, Multilanguage Support is
always available.
Encrypted files
The setup copies any encrypted files on the installation disk automatically to the folder
containing the application ( e.g. C:\Program Files\Calculux\Area ).
Q: Why does the legend in the report not show all project luminaires?
A: The legend of luminaire types only shows the used luminaires in a project. This is not the list of available ones,
but only those which are installed. The legend in the 2-D project overview and all the calculation results is disabled in case
of more than six used luminaire types.
Known problems
The drawing and printing of calculation results can be slow when shapes are used.
