Establishing communication using MAC address

In case IP address is unknown, wrong or the CP is without it, the communication can be established using MAC address of the CP card. To do so it
is necessary to change the Interface Parameter Assignment Used in Set PG/PC Interface.

Open Control Panel and click on Set PG/PC Interface:

Usually TCP/IP is used (access with IP address) as shown on next picture:

To establish communication through MAC address it is necessary to choose ISO Ind.Ethernet (after clicking OK, a pop up will appear to confirm
it):

MAC address can be found on the CP:

In hardware configuration it is necessary to place the MAC address of the CP. Open the hardware configuration of the dedicated PLC.

Picture #6:

1. Double click on CP PN-IO

2. In the opened window click on Properties
3. Fill the data, MAC address, IP address and select Subnet, confirm with OK.
Save and compile before downloading.
After downloading the hardware configuration to the PLC through MAC address IP address placed in Properties window will be new IP
address of the CP. So after downloading once the hardware configuration through MAC address it will be possible to access the PLC with
his IP address.

After downloading the CP has a new IP address, it is not necessary any more to use ISO Interface so it should be changed back to TCP/IP.

 Go back to Control Panel -> Set PG/PC Interface (Picture #1).

 Select TCP/IP (Picture #2).
 Click OK and confirm in pop-up window that will appear.
 Make sure the IP address of the PG is in correct range according to the PLC’s IP address (Picture #7).
 To test the communication ping the IP address of the PLC from Command Prompt (Picture #8).
