First and foremost, parents play an important role in overcoming obesity of children

by controlling their bad eating habits. Nowadays, children like to eat unhealthy foods like
snacks and fast foods that contain high sugar, calories, cholesterol and fats which may lead
to obesity in children especially fats. The excessive accumulation of body fat will cause
obesity (SM, 2016). Parents should control children’s eating habits by various ways like
restriction which involves limiting children’s intake of junk foods and total amount of food,
and pressure which involves pressuring children to eat healthy foods like fruits and
vegetables and pressuring to eat more in general. In daily life, parents can prepare healthy
meals contain vegetables and fruits. It is parents’ responsibility to offer a wide variety of
foods that are prepared and presented in a way that is nutritious and appropriate for your
child’s age and development. In order to make them eat, parents should also be positive,
supportive and patient besides using restriction and pressure controlling methods (van der
Horst, 2012). Hence, parents should control children’s bad eating habits in order to
overcome obesity in children.
