Lesson idea implementation: In this lesson, the teacher will start by discussing the lesson plan idea and the
students will be listening to the plan. The lesson will be introduced with a video discussing goods and services,
as well as discussing consumers and producers. This lesson will take about 30-35 minutes to complete. During
the lesson, students will be encouraged to express their thoughts and questions over the topic. At the end of
the lesson, students will complete a sorting hands-on activity about goods and services, and a producer and
consumer activity.

After the activity, students will be separated into groups so they can work together on a task, in which they
will play a matching game. The teacher should encourage students to illustrate their answers if they wish to
do so. Once the students have completed the group activity, they will be assessed by each receiving a sheet
that asks questions over the topic, and the students will complete this sheet individually to be turned in to the
teacher. In order for this lesson to achieve a higher LoTi level, it can be extended by including a PowerPoint
that is interactive and engaging for the students to come up to the board, and complete the task.

Reflective Practice: For this lesson, I believe that encouraging the students with options, teamwork, and
hands-on activities; the students will be highly involved and engaged throughout the plan. This lesson was
planned as an introductory lesson to the main unit of study for Social Studies. However, this lesson can be
extended by using the interactive PowerPoint on the board including, additional interactive software. For
example, including NearPod technology in an extended lesson could enhance the lesson and be a way for
students to incorporate another type of technology in the lesson.
