Preserved Mangoes
Objectives : To be able to make preserved mangoes so it will last longer.

Materials/Ingredients : 300 mL Jar with lid , ½ cup of white sugar, mineral water, and
yellow-green mangoes

Procedure :
1. Wash jar and lid with warm and soapy water and rinse well. In a deep pot,
place jars and water to cover. Boil for 10 minutes. Remove from pot and drain.

2. While the jars are boiling, peel and cut the mangoes according to your
desired slice (e.g. diced, slice, strips).

3. To make the syrup, bring warm water and sugar to a boil. Stir it constantly until
the sugar dissolves completely (approximately 3 – 5 minutes). The longer you boil
it, the thicker the syrup will be.

4. Once you’re done, pour the syrup into the jar for about half-full. After that put
the mangoes in until the jar is full. The syrup must reach over the lid of the jar, so
pour some more syrup if it is not enough.
5. Close the lid and keep the finished product for 5 days before you eat it.
