After 5 weeks of placement, I have learnt things about myself and my ability as a per-

service teach. Being in a foundation class was something I have never one before. In
the beginning, I was scared of teaching a class of 26 students alone but now I am able
to teach 25 students by myself. things that I have learnt during this placement is
understanding and knowing how effective knowing the students because it helps
understand how the student is able to learn. during the two-week full-time teaching, I
found it much easier having the knowledge of each student and how they learning and
which student needed more support than others. Another aspect of placement that helps
me learn and be a better teacher was knowing the content of what I wanted to teach the
student. When I was planning for learning experiences/lesson, I found it much easier to
think of different teaching strategy when I knew about the content of the subject or topic
that I want the students to learn. I learnt to use a different strategy when teaching to the
students because I realise that each student will learn differently and have a different
understanding even if you are teaching the same thing. Planning and behaviour
management was one of the two aspects I was struggling at the beginning but after
three weeks of learning and getting feedback from my mentor I was able to improve and
now more confidence when planning a lesson for student and dealing with different
behaviours in the classroom. Looking about I always thought that teaching you would be
alone, but the placement has changed my way of thinking about teaching. Teachers that
were in the same year level foundation, I had an opportunity to learn and work with
them. In foundation year I found that giving students positive feedback help with their
motivation to learn. Assess is an aspect that I found useful during the placement
because I was able to see where the student is at after five weeks of learning. Overall
this placement is one of my best placement that I have had, it helps me grow as a
teacher and aspect that I wanted to improve on i got the opportunity to such as
communication to other, This was something I wanted to improve and I was able to.
