Topic: In the modern world, studying at university is becoming too expensive for many

students compared to the past .What are the causes of this and what measures should be
taken to overcome the problem?

Going to university is a desirable goal for most students around the world. Although university
no doubt plays a critical role in determining the quality of working life in the future, in my
opinion, studying at university must be worth for paying high expenditure. Hence, it is the reason
why it is more expensive for joining university now than in the past. The bases of this field are
lecturer and equipment.

From qualitative point, higher expense means ‘raising the quality of teaching’. The demands for
pushing the quality of training are more and more necessity, especially well-qualified lecturers.
In other words, because students choose to spend more money on studying at university now
than in the past, then the opportunity cost is the extra payment which they hope to receive
knowledge from the best lecturers. For instance, some people studying abroad would like to
comeback to teach the students in their hometown, it is proper for requesting a high salary
corresponding with their effort and expenditure.

Another opportunity cost would be the ability to use money to achieve better material facilities.
To be specific, a student can gain tremendously by matching with a well-quipped environment.
This provides students many opportunities to practice or conduct the investigation in the reality
when attending university course. Moreover, students also have chance to access to advanced
technology from during the studying time at university. These can be significant experiences that
help students defined their prominent ability and their future job.

In conclusion, higher expenditure for studying university is worth considering. If people sacrifice
their money with attending university, this will also add to the opportunity cost of their study
effort. Thus, the expectation is that a person will achieve a job with better salary because of the
extra payment for university.
