Motivation:

Good morning class!

Okay so before we go on with our lesson for today,
let us have a short activity first. Are you ready?

So, I have here 3 pictures showing different places

that had been damaged by a previous typhoon.

I will pick 3 students and these 3 students will pick 1

picture. Each of you needs to answer my question.
Okay?

My question is, based on the picture, What do you

think is the TYPHOON SIGNAL that was raised in
that particular place?

Thank you for your participation.

DISCUSSION:
This morning, I am going to discuss a new lesson
which is related to the activity that we just did. Do
you have any idea about the new lesson?

Okay, so today’s lesson is entitled “THE STRENGTH

OF A TYPHOON IS DESCRIBED BY A PUBLIC STORM
WARNING SYSTEM.

Question, do you know how many typhoon signals

we have?

Okay, very good.

Next question, what govt agency is responsible for
monitoring the weather of our country?

Correct! It is PAGASA.
It is responsible for monitoring the weather and
updating us about it.

What do you call the people who study weather?

Correct! Meteorologist.
Again, PAGASA is the one who updates us about the
weather esp. if there is a typhoon.

In case there will be a typhoon in the country,

PAGASA usually informs the areas that will be
affected. They need to inform the areas that have
typhoon signals.
PAGASA have a new system that they follow. It is
called Public Storm Warning System or PSWS.

Discuss the chart.

Always remember that typhoon is a natural disaster.

Can we control it? Not. But what we can lessen the
damage it will give to us as long as we prepare for it.

Lets discuss now the Basic Preparedness Guidelines

during a typhoon.
1-7.

APPLICATION: Tableau

At this point, we will have another activity. This time

I need 2 groups. Each group will pose like in a
tableau based on the situation that I will read. Okay?

Okay class, please remember that typhoon is a

natural phenomenon that we cannot prevent. But
we can protect ourselves from the danger it brings
by monitoring the weather conditions and following
