2 Definition and Origin

Windows 10 is a series of personal computer operating systems produced by Microsoft as part of

its Windows NT family of operating systems. It is the successor to Windows 8.1 and was released
for retail sale on July 29, 2015. Windows 10 is currently receiving new updates continuously.

3 Main Goals

 Allow the easy exchange between keyboard and touch screen: Microsoft Windows 10
Continuum allows users to choose between touchscreen and keyboard interfaces on
devices that offer both. Continuum automatically detects the presence of a keyboard and
orients the interface to match.
 Replace Explorer for Microsoft Edge: Microsoft Edge debuted with Windows 10 and
replaces Internet Explorer as the default web browser. Edge includes tools such as Web
Notes, which allows users to mark up web sites, and Reading View, which allows users to
view certain websites without the clutter of ads.
 Improve Security: Windows 10 integrated support for multifactor authentication
technologies, such as smartcards and security tokens. In addition, Windows Hello brought
biometric authentication to Windows 10, allowing users to log in with a fingerprint scan, iris
scan or facial recognition technology.
 4 How does it work

A new iteration of the Start menu is used on the Windows 10 desktop, with a list of places and other
options on the left side, and tiles representing applications on the right. The menu can be resized,
and expanded into a full-screen display, which is the default option in Tablet mode. A new virtual
desktop system was added. A feature known as Task View displays all open windows and allows
users to switch between them, or switch between multiple workspaces. Universal apps, which
previously could be used only in full screen mode, can now be used in self-contained windows
similarly to other programs.

Windows 10 is so versatile that it can be used in many professional areas, such as:

- Accounting: Windows 10 is very useful in this area because it allows counters to use special
accounting programs, in addition to the already classic Excel.
- Journalism: The great compatibility of programs offered by this version of Microsoft's
operating system, allows journalists to use audio, video and photo editing tools.
- Construction: Windows 10 is very important in the area of construction because it allows
the use of programs like AutoCAD, which allows to make measurements buildings or
internal cabling.

6 How can you put into practice in your program?

It can’t be used in the app, because, this is only compatible with iOS and Android mobile operating
systems, however, the future compatibility of other operating systems with the application of the
mechanical area is not ruled out.

- Microsoft: is an American multinational technology company with headquarters in

Redmond, Washington. It develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer
software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services.
- Windows NT family: is a family of operating systems produced by Microsoft, the first version
of which was released on July 27, 1993. It is a processor-independent, multiprocessing and
multi-user operating system.
- Microsoft Edge: is a web browser developed by Microsoft. It was first released for Windows
10 and Xbox One in 2015, then for Android and iOS in 2017.
- Smartcard: A smart card resembles a credit card in size and shape, but inside it is
completely different. The inside of a smart card usually contains an embedded
microprocessor.
- Security Tokens: These are cryptographic tokens that pay dividends, share profits, pay
interest or invest in other tokens or assets to generate profits for the token holders.
- Biometrics: is the measurement and statistical analysis of people's unique physical and
behavioral characteristics.
- Excel: is a software program included in the Microsoft Office suite. It is used to create
spreadsheets, which are documents in which data is laid out in rows and columns like a big
table.
- AutoCAD: is a computer-aided design (CAD) program used for 2-D and 3-D design and
drafting.
