Objectives:

2. Explain the difference between figurative and literal language.
3. Appreciate the Figures of Speech that are used in daily conversation.

A. Activity.
Show-Me-the-Picture. (10mins.)
The class will be divided into four (4) groups; the facilitator will show to the class the
different pictures of memes with different figures of speech.
1. How did you find the activity?
2. Can you explain what the meaning of this images show is?
3. When do you think we can use this kind of language?

B. Analysis
In-Line.
In the class, some lines of the songs with a figurative use of language.
1. Where do we see these lines?
2. What can you say about this statements?
3. What does these statements mean?
4. Do you have another meaning for these statements?

C. Abstraction.
Ball Toss Review
The facilitator prepares some question in paper with the answer at the back. The
facilitator will show to the students the question to review. Using a paper ball, the learners
will throw the ball to the person they like to answer. If the learners can’t answer there will be
task given to them.

1. Why do think this kind of language is important?


2. How do you find when this language were use in our daily conversation?
3. What do you think if this kind of expressions were not use in our conversation, what do
you think will happen?
D. Application.
Skit-me- In
The class will be divided in 4 groups (or with the same group). In 10 minutes, the
students will make their own drama skit with the use of the figures of speech.
Agreement.
Look for some local Figures of Speech that are used in your community, then identify what
figure it belong.
