A RADICAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN TARMA.

Considered the city of flowers, with agriculture as one of the fastest growing
economies, there is also a high growth in the flower park. Now it is one of the
biggest problems of vehicular congestion that produces a contamination to the
environment and the roads that lack maintenance.

The current provincial mayor said he will manage a transportation project to

improve the veicular roads in the next two years. It is estimated that it would cost
US $ 70,500 million.

The avoidance area will cross from the north to the south of the city and will be
part of the Integrated Transport System (SIT). It would be built through a public-
private partnership. International financing would be 60% of the cost. The rest will
be placed by the regional government.

It is proposed that the vehicles be bi-articulated with three wagons and 30 meters
long with double articulated chassis that allows them to cross the curves with less
difficulty.

According to the study, it would take 30 vehicles, trams, to reach the maximum
capacity of operation.
