KAT 1.10 - Reflective journal.

1. What have you learned most from Academic English Advanced class?
Answer: skimming scanning, identifying and using rhetorical structure, paraphrase, and
summarize.

2. We learned through two different teaching methods, which are: traditional classroom and
flipped classroom. Which one helped you most in learning English? Why?
Answer : I think in traditional classroom, because mr. Dwi will tell specifically to make
us more understand. And flipped classroom for the task is to complete his explanation
about what we learn. So it will be continuous.

3. We use different ways to facilitate you learn academic English, such as Powerpoint
materials, videos, Kahoot quizzes, discussion forum, quiz in Learn, quiz in Edpuzzle, etc.
What have helped you most in understanding the materials in online class? Why?

5. What do you think about using Edpuzzle in a flipped classroom? Explain!

Answer : as i said above, very help to me especially to think that what the correct answer
after the explanation and then the example first, so we learn form our mistakes and the
question we want to ask and then in the traditional classroom will be explain what we ask
in Edpuzzle.

6. What are your challenges of learning academic English using Edpuzzle?

Answer : how to understand more without reply the video so we can be better in the next
task Edpuzzle.

7. What do you think about using Kahoot in the face-to-face classroom? Explain!
Answer : make us more challenging and test our compact in a group but sometimes we
can gather with our group because the position we will sit.

8. What are your challenges of using Kahoot in the classroom? Explain!

Answer : test our speed to analize the question and then to answer it without doubt. And
the opinion from our member of group to make a decisioin what answer we will choose.
9. Which one do you prefer: playing Kahoot individually or in groups? Why?
Answer : maybe Kahoot individually because we may concern about the question and
carefull with the answer will be choosen. But the other side, in groups will be practically
because as a nurse we must work in team and then from this lesson we will know and get
used to make a decision together. So i will choose Kahoot in groups.

10. What are your challenges in learning academic English through a flipped classroom?
Answer : the concentration and work individually and can’t disscuss with our group
what’s the best choice we will answer. But it can make our knowledge added before we
gather in traditional class to prepare our Kahoot team.

11. What are your suggestions for the next Academic English classes?
Answer : i think it’s gonna be okay with his step to teach for the next generation english
advance for etp 2018. Because mr. Dwi teach with fun and challenges too. So it will be
perfect and not boring.
