Piping Modification to divert Isomerate from Isomerization unit to PMG

Dispatch Tanks.
“What If” Analysis”Report
Objective:
The objective of the proposed modification is reduce the time required to transfer
Isomerate to PMG dispatch tanks for blending. Proposed line will be used for
transferring Isomerate directly from Isomerization unit to PMG header in parallel
with Isomerate storage tanks (TK-336/337) outlet line, in order to reduce PMG
blending time.
What-If Analysis technique was used to identify the hazards associated with this
modification, their consequences and suggest recommendations.
Methodology:
1- Team Familiarize with process and proposed modification.
2- Site visit.
3- Prepare a list of questions w.r.t.
a. Equipment failure
b. Human error
c. External events
4- Then go through each question brainstorming of listing hazards/ consequences.
5- Make recommendations.
