○ Facility, clinic, hospital (unit providing services)
○ Province, district (administrative unit)
○ Division, department
● Located inside a hierarchy
● Reflects administrative structure and levels
● Data is aggregated/rolled up through the hierarchy
○ Aggregate by any level (depends on where data is
entered)

Org Unit Group Sets
● Classification of org units
○ Org units can be grouped into groups
○ Org unit groups can be grouped into group sets
● Used for data analysis
○ Each group set becomes a data dimension
○ An org unit can only be member of one group per
group set
○ This allows for building alternative hierarchies for the
purpose of data analysis
