THE Davao City Government vowed to look into reported discrimination on lesbian, gay, bisexual and

transgender (LGBT) and Muslim community in the city.

Davao City administrator Zuleika Lopez issued the statement after a City Councilor urged Mayor Sara
Duterte-Carpio to sign the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the Anti-Discrimination
Ordinance, as reports surfaced that some members of the Muslim and LGBT community continue to face
discrimination in the city.

"Of course, we don't want discrimination in our city. We will look into this. If discrimination is still
happening here, we will discuss with the private sectors kasi sila ang (because they are the) frontline.
Discrimination is prohibited in our city," Lopez said.

As to the call to sign the IRR, Lopez assured that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will support what
is good for the people and they will look into the matter.
