Celebration
of GCSR Countries – 2014 & 15
GTU’s Centre for Global Business Studies is going to celebrate National Day of South Africa, Nepal, Israel & Yemen on 11th April
(Saturday), 2015 at GTU, Chandkheda Campus - Ahmedabad, Gujarat
BACKGROUND: GTU has implemented a new Global MBA program since August 2011. This program requires immersion studies and
preparation of reports and case studies in different subjects. GTU’s new MBA Program has three characteristics: Global, Innovative
and Skill-oriented.
GCSR (Global Country Study Report) program has been introduced, as a 2-semester study program during the 3rdand the 4thsemesters
of the MBA. In GCSR the students and teachers study business interactions with all seven regions of the world having the focus on
developing countries.
To strengthen the program, GTU has appointed the Board of Advisors in GCSR; who are the experts and leaders in foreign trade as
well as in diplomatic relations.
On 19th July, 2014, GTU had organized the 2nd CONCLAVE ON AFRO-ASIAN COUNTRIES. H. E. Mr. Shaida Mohd. Abdali Ambassador of
Afghanistan to India, H. E. Mr. Rizali W. Indrakesuma, Ambassador of Indonesia to India, H.E. Mr. Ndubuisi V Amaku, High Commissioner
of Nigeria to India, Dr. Lewis Mbilizi, Deputy High Commissioner of Malawi to India had graced the workshop as the Chief Guest.
Stepping forward with the objective of making the GCSR program more efficient and interesting, GTU has started to celebrate the
National Day/ Independence Day of selected countries of GCSR program.
To enhance the overall involvement of the students with the selected GCSR country.
To strengthen the network among students, professors and other stakeholders with the selected country
To demonstrate and uphold the national pride and fellowship
To discuss the environmental factors for exploring the business opportunities with the Selected GCSR Country
To provide the platform to the faculties / students to interact with the diplomats / corporate leaders / Entrepreneurs of
selected country.
In the National Day Celebrations, the students who are studying specific country come at GTU campus, and celebrate the National Day
by reciting National Anthem, presentation on business and trade opportunities and cultural performances of the country of study.
Around 200 International students from more than 30 countries of Asia and Africa are also studying at various affiliated institutes at
GTU. Few of these international students also join the function as special invitees.
We have celebrated National days of more than 35 countries at GTU Chandkheda campus. H. E .Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tan – Ambassador of Vietnam to
India and H.E. Mr. Tarek Azouz The Ambassador of Tunisia to India have graced the National Day Celebrations of Vietnam and Tunisia

Role of Institute: As an Institution, your role will be to prepare a brief presentation of Country’s environmental factors like Political,
Economic, Social, Cultural, Demographic, and selected Industry overview along with major export/import of products/services.
Students should include the non – technical contents also like, presentation of the National and Cultural Symbols of the country,
Documentary on the country, some cultural activities, like wearing the traditional dresses, presenting the cultural dance of the GCSR
country with any such other creative activities.
The students and faculty members will be provided the certification of participation. As the program is exclusively designed and
organized for the students to make them involved and motivated for preparation of good GCSR reports, it is needless to say that all
the students studying specific country must participate in the event as presenters or audience.
As a university, GTU is trying to communicate with the embassy of all four countries and planning to invite the Ambassador / High
Commissioner / Key Official / Business leader from all countries in the event.
