Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
All surface to be walerpreafed should be clean, sound and cry,
Concrete surfaces should have a ight eteol- {row fellowed by
fine hai-broom ar equivalent finish which is dry and free trom
dust, oil and other contaminants.
Remove all high spots.
Mose and lichen must be removed physically followed by
treatment with fungicidal wash to kill any sgores and inhibit
Turtier gromh. After realment wash down thoroughly and al
to dry
Laitence should be removed from concrete by grt blasing wire
brushing or waterjet blasting and allowing to dry.
All metal surfaces should be made éean of point, cis, rust and
‘other contaminants. Abrade to exnose bright metal then wipe
lean with Fosroc Stvent 101 before priming
wt
Proparatory treatment
Priming
Priming is net normally required on geod quality concrete
substrates. However, absorbent surfaces such es porous
concrete, sand/cement soreed and cement aoards wil require
sealing 1 prevent absorption of Nitcproof 600. This should be
done using a 1:1 mixture of Nitoproct 800 and 2 recommended
solvent (consult Foerec technical dapartmant), Nitoprocf FC110
should be used for highly porous substrates. Use Nitoproot
Feot Primec” as a prime: tor titumincus surfaces and Niteprime
44 for matal, glazed and PVC surfaces. All metal and PVC
surfaces shoul be cleaned and abraded before priming,
‘Movement Joints
All expansion and movement joints should be sealed with
‘Thiotlex 600, When cured, Debending Tape should be applied
to the lop surlace ofthe sealant and the joint then overcoaled
\wity a 1.3 mim thick application of NtopIDF 690 extending 150,
‘mm gach aide of tho tepo, Embed 2 100 mm or 160 mm wide
trip of Nkoproat Serim’, then allow to cure before general,
epalication
Cracks
All shrinkage and non-maving structural cracks should be
pretreated with rot lass than 2 1.3 mm coating of Niloproot
00 extending 75 mm ether side of the crack. Alow ta cure.
‘evernight before general epplication
Right Angle Bends
All citical right angle bends musi have a cant stip o coving
detail installed. This may be either pre-iormerd or fabricated
from Nitaproot 600 HE, If pre-formed strip Is used, t must be
bedded in toa layer of Nitopracf 600 HE then given a reiniorcnng
pretreatment by application of @ 1.3 mm thick cost extending
19) nm either side of the coving. Whilst still wel, a 180 mm
‘wide strip of Nitoprosf Serim is embedded Into the Nitoproot
{600 as reinforcement (ensure tiorough weting). If Nilopraot
600 HB is used, it should bo firmly towelled inte tho ecrnor
‘and formed into @ 20 mm x 20 mm trianguar coving
All other ongles, joints, protrusion and strose points shculd bo
pretreated with a heavy application of Ntoproof 600 HB.

General application
Nitaprocf 800 should be applied by brush, trowel, scusecee
or aliless spray ((wo coat application for standard greds on
vortical surfaces)
Nitoprocf 600 is applied at a minimum vet film thickness of 1.3,
rm (13 lire/m). This is in adctan to the preparaioyy work
Roller application
‘Spray application: Use a Graco Kino type pump, with 60:1 ratio.
al presaure 5.5 Bar (80 p.s.i). Hess diameter 13 mm with 10,
mm wig anc, Tip size 0.58 mm - 0.84 mm (23-93 thau).
‘a short haired synthetic ple roller.
Nitoprocf 800 HB should be applied by trowel or squseges
(mainly verteal suriaces},
By use of he appropriste grado, the correct fim thicknoss can
be achieved In one pass, In critical applicalion's where surety
Of flim thickness is paramount two coals should be applied et
right angles to one another. Quantities por coat should be
‘gauged io g¥ve the specified tinal lim thickness.
If'2 wator test ie Le be run the membrane should cure for a
‘minimum of 10 days.
Flood Test
rior to placement of protection, flood to aminimum depth of
‘50 mmm of wale? for 24 hours. Drains should be plugged end
barriers placed to contain tho wator
Curing and Protection
Nitoprocf 300 membrane must be cured for a minimum of 24
Inours at 25°C belore placing protection,
\Whore damage to tha momarane is possible (By traffic, back
filing etc.) il should be protected by a cementitious screed or
protection boards. A cust coat of cement should be used to
prevent adhesion of the membrane to lhe boards.
‘Where @ bond with the topping is not roquited, a separater
sheet should be used
Protection fram salar radiation, All exposed aracs of Nitoproct
{500 should he coated with Nitoprcat Reflectacoat to ensure
maximum resisiance to ultra-violet radiation,
Cleaning
‘Tools and equipment should be cleaned with Fasroc Solvent
101 immediately alter use, Do not use for thinning, except
hare a sealing coat ie roquirsd.
