PETALING JAYA, Fri. - Four people, including a woman, have been detained in connection with the
kidnapping of a student from his Bukit Pulai home.
The victim, Aziz bin Tahir, 16, was found in an abandoned house during a raid in Tainan Betong
near Port Dickson on Sunday. According to the statement from the General Hospital, he is in a coma and
there are multiple wounds on his body.
The suspects, one of them believed to be the victim s relative, were picked up in Shall Alam and
Petaling Jaya yesterday.
It is learnt that Selangor police nabbed the 35-year-old relative at 4.00 a.m. in Shah Alam. The
relative then led the police to a house in Taman Desa Jaya, Petaling Jaya, where the others were
arrested and the ransom money recovered.
According to tlie police, Aziz was believed to have been kidnapped from his home when his family
were away. The kidnappers, demand of RM300,000.00 was reduced to RM 100,000.00. The victim’s
father, Tahir bin Hamzali, a businessman, paid the ransom but his son was not released. He then lodged
a police report.
A police investigation is being conducted to determine the extent of the victim’s injuries.
