Know Your Rights!

Oral Presentations
You have spent a lot of time learning about Civil Rights and Liberties, the court cases
tied to them, and how people push for these kinds of change. Now it is time to show off
what you know! In groups of at most four, you will be part of a presentation that explains
what civil right/liberty is, how it has evolved over time, any court cases tied to it, and what
it means to us today. These presentations will be done in front of the class and require
some sort of PowerPoint or Prezi presentation to help show your work. Presentation is
between 5-6 minutes long, so be smart about what you say and be prompt. At the end of
each presentation, questions will be asked if the class has any, so be prepared to answer.
This presentation requires time to research and plan who will work on what. As
such, this project will be split into four days. One planning, one research, one workday and
the last day will be presentations.
A successful project has the group effectively working together to create a
presentation that is well-connected, well-researched, and presents the information
effectively.
You will choose one topic from the topics listed below

- Freedom of Speech
- Discrimination based on sex
- Freedom of Religion
- Discrimination based on race
- Freedom of the Press
- Discrimination based on sexual
- Freedom of Association
orientation
- Fourth Amendment

The best presentations are ones where the students are confident and know what they are
talking about, so be sure to take time to study what you present. If there is an issue with
your presentation, or your group members are not helping, contact me to resolve the issue.
