Memo

To: Karen Thompson

From: [your first and last name]
Date: [date the deliverable is due]
Subject: Planning Choices for Slidecast

[use one of the standard rhetorical moves for an introduction when responding to a
request for information as covered in project 1].

Context

Audience. [who is the audience for your slidecast? Remember, the audience
must be a specific workplace audience with a low-level of technical expertise. The
audience may not be students or the general public].

Need. [what is the need this audience has? In this section, include what term you
are planning to define for the audience and why OR if writing a technical
description, what you will describe and why. For why, think about what you
audience will do after viewing your slidecast.

The need must be such that the audience will be better able to make a decision
now or in the future. It should not be a need such as satisfying the audience's
curiosity].

Option. [which option have you chosen that will best meet the needs of your
audience?]

Rhetorical Moves
[state the rhetorical move or moves if you are going to use more than one to
explain how you plan to extend the technical definition OR extended the
technical description).

See slide 17 of slidedoc 2 for rhetorical moves commonly used to extend a

technical definition. See slide 18 of slidedoc 2 for rhetorical moves commonly
used to extend a technical description.

Use the same language as in the slides because the idea here is to learn these
common moves by how they are typically stated].

Organizing Pattern
[state the name of the organizing pattern you will use to arrange the slide order of
your slideshow. See slides 20-28 for common patterns].

[use a standard rhetorical move to conclude your documentation memo. It can be as

simple as saying "If you have any questions, please let me know].
