CHIP WORKPIECE

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

1. Chisels are selected according to requirements of the operation.

2. Workpieces are chipped to drawing specifications.

CONTENTS:

 Selecting chisels
 Procedure in chipping workpieces (grooves, slots and keyways)
 Standard drawing symbols
 Orthographic and isometric drawings

CONDITIONS:

Students/trainees must be provided with the following:

 Flat cold chisel

 Cape chisel
 Diamond-point chisel
 Round nose chisel
 Ball-peen hammer
 Workpiece
 Gloves
 Safety goggles
 Apron
 Safety shoes

METHODOLOGIES:
