Austin American-Statesman
Capitol 10,000 Race Office
305 South Congress Avenue
Austin, TX 78704

Dear Team Captain,

The 37th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000 Corporate Challenge is an initiative to get the employees of your
company interested in healthy, wellness, and camaraderie. The Corporate Challenge is a great way for you
and your colleagues to get involved with the Statesman Cap 10K. There are many benefits to participating in
the Statesman Cap 10K Corporate Challenge. The Corporate Challenge builds camaraderie in your work
place and gets you involved in the community and excited about fitness. Participation in the Corporate
Challenge shows that you truly value fitness. We encourage wearing your own creative t-shirts, costumes, and
company spirit flare as these are new categories we’ve added to the Corporate Challenge. We will still be
competing for the Corporate Challenge cup for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place but there will be other awards, too!

The Statesman Cap 10K race will end at the Finish Line Festival with entertainment, activities, awards and
contests – including awards for largest team, greatest team spirit contest, and fastest times! Once you have
crossed the finish line, please make your way to the main stage so your team can be judged for largest team
and greatest spirit awards. You must be present to win.

Corporate Challenge Teams must have a minimum of 10 participants with no maximum. Please note that in
order for your team to be eligible for prizes, you MUST have at least 10 people from your company
registered on your team to compete for fastest time and other awards.

To assist you with bringing on more friends and family, we have created a media kit that contains:
 Team Rules & Restrictions
 Registration instructions and deadlines
 Team Stuff Pick Up Instructions
 Prizes and Incentives
 Event schedule
 Fundraising ideas and information about our beneficiary SafePlace (optional)

We hope that you plan to fill out your team with 10 or more people. Please know we are here to help make this
as fun and easy as possible for you and your team. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or
concerns!

Sincerely,

Mercedes Orten
