Sydney Griffin July 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Sydney Griffin
and I am so excited to be your child’s (grade level) grade teacher.

I am a first year teacher and a graduate of Samford University. I am looking forward to

a new school term as your child’s teacher. This year will be an exciting time for all of us.
I have planned many activities throughout the course of the year that are designed to
help your child succeed academically, not only this year but also in the future. When I
am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family, shopping and baking. Just to
name a few!

Students and their parents or guardians are naturally curious about what they will be
learning. In addition to our academics, we will learn about different procedures we need
to go through school such as lining up, completing school work and walking in the
hallway. There will be homework assignments three nights a week. You should expect
to see your child spending thirty minutes reviewing, reading, or working on projects. A
copy of the weekly schedule will be given to each student to keep in his or her binder.

Throughout the year, it is important to have a strong parent-teacher relationship. If at

any time you have any questions or concerns please contact me. The best way to reach
me outside of school is by email (xxx@school.com). Also, please check the school’s
website often for homework assignments as well as important updates. I update my
page as much as possible with reminders, news, homework, and other information that
might be helpful.
I am thrilled to be starting on this year’s journey with your child! This year is going to
be full of fun, learning, and growing. You’ll meet new friends, learn lots of new skills,
and make wonderful new memories.
Sincerely,
Ms. Sydney Griffin
