Biografía

Mi nombre es Porfirio Alexis Clavel Quijano. Soy salvadoreño de 29 años. Mi formación de

base es licenciatura en educación. Actualmente curso la maestría académica centroamericana
en sociología, en la Universidad de Costa Rica. Soy becado por el programa Alemán de
Intercambio Académico, (DAAD), sede Costa Rica. He trabajo de manera conjunta en la
organización Líderes solidarios de El Salvador. Soy parte de la Red del Consejo
Latinoamericano de Investigación para la Paz (CLAIP). He trabajado en áreas de cultura de
paz y no violencia desde talleres de reconstrucción del tejido social. He tenido la oportunidad
de estar en el Congreso Centroamericano de Sociología (ACAS) Nicaragua, hablando sobre
temas de violencia, desigualdad social, exclusión y la realidad multicultural del actual mundo
global.
Desde mi formación académica y política he estado orientado en la construcción organizativa
de mi país. Desde mis 13 años he trabajo en comunidades empobrecidas y más conflictivas
del país. Es un acto que me apasiona y mi conciencia social es el motor de esos cambios que
necesito ver en mi país. Estoy comprometido en ver un país con un tejido social reconstruido
y reconciliado, a pesar de la psicosis generada por acontecimientos históricos y actuales. Es
posible dirimir el conflicto y pasar a procesos que resuelvan las divisiones ideológicas a
través de acciones no-violentas.

Biography

My name is Porfirio Alexis Clavel Quijano. I am a 29 year old Salvadoran. My basic

education is a degree in education. I am currently studying the Central American academic
master's degree in sociology at the University of Costa Rica. I am a scholarship holder for
the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD), Costa Rica. I have worked together in
the Líderes Solidarios de El Salvador organization. I am part of the Network of the Latin
American Research Council for Peace (CLAIP). I have worked in areas of culture of peace
and nonviolence from workshops to rebuild the social fabric. I have had the opportunity to
be at the Central American Congress of Sociology (ACAS) of Nicaragua, to talk about issues
of violence, social inequality, exclusion and the multicultural reality of the current global
world.

Since my academic and political education I have focused on the organizational construction
of my country. Since my 13 years I have worked in impoverished and most conflictive
communities of the country. It is an act that I am passionate about and my social conscience
is the motor of the changes that I need to see in my country. I am committed to seeing a
country with a reconstructed and reconciled social fabric, despite the psychosis generated by
historical and current events. It is possible to resolve the conflict and move on to processes
that resolve ideological divisions through non-violent actions.
