zone
Our body has perfect air conditioning. This
sophisticated system reliably regulates our body
temperature to a constant 37° C, which is the
optimum for maximum performance and comfort.
An essential control mechanism of this system is the
release of moisture at the right moment to protect
the body from overheating. To maintain the body's
optimum performance, a textile worn next to the skin
has to support this regulative mechanism.
Body moisture should be absorbed to a'large extent
by the textile to prevent body hypothermia. The other
way around, a textile should again release moisture
to the skin to maintain the necessary cpoling effect.
Or better: A textile should work as our own skin.
The body has totally
different temperature
and moisture zones,
which results in different
requirements a functional
textile has to meet.
Even if a textile's construction is optimised, the key

textile functions
To keep the body in the 37° C performance zone,
hydrophilic fibre functioning in combination with an
optimum construction of the textile worn next to the
skin is imperative. RUCO-PUR SLY or RUCO-PUR
‘SPH optimises the following textile functions:
+ Hydrophilic properties as the basic
Prerequisite for climate and/or moisture
management
Softness to promote wear comfort
Antistatic properties preventing the textile
from clinging to the skin
+ Hygiene with RUCO-BAC AGP Silver Protection
as an optional finish
Functionalising with RUCO-PUR SLY or RUCO-
PUR SPH in combination with an optimum
textile construction generates an unprecedented
performance profile.

technology:
a milestone in
functionalising
Conventional hydrophilic agents move moisture away
from the skin through the textile to the outside.
RUCO-PUR SLY and RUCO-PUR SPH work with
the Dual Moisture Management technology (DMM).
This technology guarantees sufficient moisture on
the skin at all times to avoid an interruption of the
cooling effect. Thus, there will never be the feeling of
heat, moisture or cold. The body climate is kept in an
optimum range.

polyurethane technology. The installation of hydrogel-
forming segments in polyurethane enable the DMM-
effect.
The newly developed polymer can fulfil the function
of an optimised-effect moisture depot by taking up
moisture and moving only surplus moisture to the
outside of the textile by activating capillary effects.

RUCO-PUR SLY or RUCO-PUR SPH anchored on the
fibre independently regulates the moisture transport
away from and to the skin surface and thus the
moisture balance as well as the body temperature.
‘Thus, RUCO-PUR SLY and RUCO-PUR SPH set a
new standard in moisture management finishing.Functional

RUCO-PUR SLY and RUCO-PUR SPH are milestones in polyurethane research. Apart from regulating the
moisture transport in textiles, these polyurethanes confer improved care and wear properties to knitted goods

Hydrophilic soft handle finishing of 1. Special moisture management finishing of
cellulosic fabrics: polyamide fabrics:
- Underwear + Hosiery
- Hosiery = Foundation garments
- Bed linen = Sports shirts

RUCO-PUR SPH is especially suitable for finishing
2. Functional moisture management high-quality PA articles with a very deep shade,
finishing of synthetic fabrics: hence the bleeding of the dyestuff is maintained as
low as possible during hand laundering.

application
RUCO-PUR SLY or RUCO-PUR SPH can be applied to all vegetable, animal or synthetic fibre substrates by
standard processes, such as padding, spraying, slop-padding, foam or vaccuum application etc., as well as by the
exhaust method in flock, yarn, winch, overflow or jet dyeing machines.
