1)What is Control ?

- Control is one of the managerial functions like planning, organizing, staffing and directing. It is
an important function because it helps to check the errors and to take the corrective action so
that deviation from standards are minimized and stated goals of the organization are achieved in
a desired manner.
According to modern concepts, control is a foreseeing action whereas earlier concept of control
was used only when errors were detected. Control in management means setting standards,
measuring actual performance and taking corrective action.

2)What is Automatic ?
-(of a device or process) working by itself with little or no direct human control.

3)What is Engineering ?
-Engineering is the use of scientific principles to design and build machines, structures, and
other things, including bridges, roads, vehicles, and buildings.[1] The discipline of engineering
encompasses a broad range of more specialized fields of engineering, each with a more
specific emphasis on particular areas of applied science and types of applications.

4)What is Automatic Control Engineering ?

-Automatic Control engineering is an engineering discipline that applies automatic
control theory to design systems with desired behaviors in control environments.[1] The discipline
of controls overlaps and is usually taught along with electrical engineering at many institutions
around the world.[1]
The practice uses sensors and detectors to measure the output performance of the process
being controlled; these measurements are used to provide corrective feedback helping to
achieve the desired performance. Systems designed to perform without requiring human input
are called automatic control systems (such as cruise control for regulating the speed of a
car). Multi-disciplinary in nature, control systems engineering activities focus on implementation
of control systems mainly derived by mathematical modeling of a diverse range of systems.
