Dear editor:

I read the article you published about watching tv. I am a sixteen year-old student and I would
like to give my point of view on this matter.

To start with, I believe that most people my age enjoy watching TV and spend lots of hours doing
it. However, it is not as bad as it seems. Actually, watching TV has many benefits. One of them
and which I consider the most important is that it allows us relax, because it is a good way of
entertainment and good for learning different things. For instance: we could learn about history
when we wacht films and tv programmes or what’s more, it is possible to learn about nature
and a variety of cultures.

Apart from that, we are accused of being unsociable, but this is not possible because it is a good
time to spend with family watching your favourite programmes, so it is very beneficial for us.
Furthermore, we develop good values according to the programmes we watch. Another point
to highlight is that it is a good source of information, and we could learn from gymnastics to
politics.

In conclusion, adults and psicologists should try to understand the reasons why we watch tv and
stop criticising us. We could get out a lot of it.
