NOTES, SPECIFICATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS If there are no tools to be bought your gun can be built for very little; two or three dollars at the most. The barrel can be had from any gua shop for a few cents for a section of good ussd rifle barrel. The different pieces cf bar iron can be had fron any blacksmith shop or mine supply house scrap box and the walnut for the stock can be gotten from a lumber yard or furniture repair shop. ‘The iron for the different parts should be ordinary bar stock or boiler plate scraps of the various thickness. Under no condition use brass, vronze or cast or brittle metal. If the iron will bend with out breaking or drill with long cuttings, it is alright to use. The most used tool will be the file so you will need a nunber of different sizes ond shapes. You should have the following; a 12 inch flat bastard file, 2 10 inch mill or fine cut file, a 6 inch smooth cut mill file, about a 6 and € inch three cornered slim taper file, an 8 inch round file and a medium coerse 1/2 round wood rasp about 10 or 12 inches long. These with about six hack saw blades, a small tap, the othor tools mentioned in the note on the cover and a few sheets of find emery cloth should do the job. The drawings are all actual size so measurements may be taken directly from the plan sheet for those not given in the instructions. The model pistol made in working out these plens and instruc- tions has been fired over one hundred times using the new high speed emmunition which proves that the design is practical and safe but the designer does not assume any responsibility for mishaps which would be caused by careless workmanship or the use of inferior material. These plans md instructions or any. part thereof cannot be copied by any one without the written consent of the designer.: Before starting to work on any of the parts, study the draw ings, photograph end instructions until you know what each part looks like, the size material it is to be cut from and the work it does in the finished gun. After you have done this you are ready to start. STEP 1, BARREL: The barrel can be any length desired but seven inches mikes a nicely balanced pistol. Heve it turned dow on a lsthe to 1/2 inch in diameter for 4 and 1/2 inches of its length and 3/8 of an inch in diameter the remaining 2 and 1/2 inches, Fig. 1. STOR 2. FRAME, The frame is worked out of a piece of metal 1/2 inch by 1 end 1/2 inch by 2 and 1/2 inches. See Fig. 1&8. The lower portion of the frame is filed down to 3/8 of an inch in thick- ness. Next drill the 3/8 inch barrel hole, the 1/8 inch extrastor rod hole and the barrel retaining screw hole, Put tho barrel in place and just start the barrel retaining screw hole into the bar- rel so that the screw will hold firmly. Next file the rear sizht notch as shows and drill the 1/8 inch hole for the trigger spring. Do not drili any other holes et this time. STEP 5, BRESCH PIECE AND LATCH: The breech piece is made of a 8/4 inch by 3/2 inch by S inch bar.
