A Novel Approach to Protect Wireless Network from

Dos Attack Using Shield Based Active Secured Routing

Protocol

Abstract

Wireless Communication System are introducing growingly in every area of day to day life , its
portability factors and low cost maintenance attract human beings to get use such services in
their day to day business operations many times we find such a growing scenario also attract the
hackers or outside intruders to get break the security parameters of server to get confidential
information in the form of different network attacks , in response to fight against this viruses or
attacks one need to think about the solution of such attack , in past research there are few
algorithm and protocols was introduced like RAEEAD and SAODV , which was specially
designed to protect wireless network from DoS attack and improve server performance in run
time environment but we find the result of theses protocols was not satisfactory as needed for
future of wireless network security in order to get improve the performance of server with
efficient routing policy along with protection of network services and performance under DoS
attack one need to design an algorithm that will provide a safe environment to wireless network
so that dedicated network server can avoid attack throughout communication process and
maintain server side throughput, performance and end to end delay.

In this paper we are going to present analytical report on the effect of DoS attack on wireless
network server and propose a new algorithm called Shield based active secure routing protocol
(SASRP) to protect server from DoS attackers as well as to manage server side performance
based on the simulation study of SAODV, RAEED and SASRP protocols based on throughput,
end to end delay and packet delivery ratio parameters.

Keywords: Wireless Network, SAODV, RAEED, SASRP, Throughput, End to End delay,
DoS Attack.
