Conceptual Framework

Figure 1 shows the overview of the study. The study is composed of three phases. The

pre assessment phase, strategic intervention phase, and the post assessment phase. The researcher

will administered a pre-test to analyze the students’ error in solving quadratic equations. The

result of this will served as the independent variables . The interventions will come in forms of

peer assisted interventions and teacher assisted interventions. The high performing students will

served as mentors or coach to their peers for better understanding of the lesson being discussed.

During the strategic intervention the researchers will provide learning materials as supplement

tools to students’ learning. These materials are teacher-made learning materials or activities to

be accomplished or will be performed by the students during classroom instruction. The

researchers will also used other resources such a internet and mathematics books to supplement

the teaching -learning materials. Finally the post-test assessment phase will be undertaken to

determine the students’ progress . During this stage the students will be assessed using test

material similar with the pre-test. This phase will determine if the strategic interventions will

help improved the scores and decrease the errors in solving quadratic equations.
