A. Hammer Mill

Hammer mill is a unit operations whose purpose is to shred or crash the raw material into
smaller pieces. It is essentially a steel drum containing a vertical or horizontal rotating shaft which
hammers are mounted. The hammers are free to swing on the ends of the cross. While rotor is
spun at a high speed inside the drum while material is fed into a feed hopper. The material is crash
by hammer bars and shredded through in the drum of a selected size. Therefore, it is low in cost,
simple and reasonable in structure, durable and capable of improving the crushing effect of
bagasse (raw material).
