Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 – On-Site Registration Guidelines
Teams need to report to the registration area upon arriving at the institute. (Refer to the institute map for
registration locations). Refer to the event schedule for registration timings.
Teams are required to register at the registration desk, adhering strictly to the process as follows:
1. Team Composition:
• Maximum 5 members per team are allowed to register for the event.
• Presence of either Team Captain or Team Vice-Captain is Compulsory.
• Presence of Faculty Advisor is COMPULSORY.
• Only members registered through the Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 Registration Form will be
allowed to register on-site.
• Any deviation in the above rules must be approved in written by BAJA SAEINDIA and the hard
copy of the approval must be presented at the time of registrations.
2. Documents Required:
• Hard Copy of Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 registration form, completed in all respects, as mailed to BAJA
SAEINDIA.
• SAEINDIA Membership Cards of participating members. (In case SAE membership cards are not received,
teams need to carry the payment confirmation Email received from SAEINDIA).
• Government Issued Photo Identity Cards for Verification (Election Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License etc.).
• Student Identity cards issued by the respective institute of the participants.
• In case of replacement of members for presentation, printout of approval mail received from Virtual BAJA
Organizers and the College Letter submitted during approval must be presented at the time of
registrations.
• Teams are required to carry the necessary documents in a file folder for hassle‐free registrations.

Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 – On-Site Registration Guidelines
1. Procedure:
• Only one member (Captain/Vice-Captain) is required to register the team.
• Captain/Vice-Captain must report to their allocated registration desk (Refer Registration Desk allocation
matrix) along with all the documents listed above.
• For teams availing accommodation facility at Chitkara University, Cash payment for accommodation must
be made at the time of registration only. Teams are advised to carry exact change for the amount to be
paid.
• Upon successful verification of all the documents, the team would be issued a registration kit and further
instructions will be provided onsite to proceed with the event.
• Teams should verify the contents of the registration kit before leaving the registration area.
• Participation Certificates would be issued to the teams during Registration only. Certificates will NOT be
sent to any participating team after the conclusion of Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA Event.

Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 - Code of Conduct
• Discipline and sociability are of utmost importance. Please exhibit the same during the event.
• Team members, whenever they are on campus, must compulsorily wear their ID cards.
• Teams are required to strictly adhere to the event schedule to avoid penalties/disqualification.
• Chitkara University is a non-smoking and a non-drinking zone, students are required to refrain
from smoking/drinking on the campus premises.
• Students who are availing the hostel accommodation facilities at Chitkara University must
strictly obey the hostel rules and regulations. All the students should be in their respective
rooms by 9 P.M. as per the norms of university.
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided as per the given timings only.
• Breakfast- 07:30 AM- 09:00 AM
• Lunch- 12:00 PM- 01:00 PM – Faculty and Judges
• Lunch- 12:45 PM- 02:45 PM – Teams
• Dinner- 07:30 PM- 09:00 PM.
• Students are advised to take utmost care of their valuables and laptops.
• Any act of indiscipline will be taken very seriously and will lead to automatic disqualification
of the team from Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019.

Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 - Presentation Guidelines
• Maximum 5 members per team are allowed, including Captain/Vice-Captain, for presentation.
• One/Two Faculty member(s), in addition to the team members, would be allowed only as silent
observer(s) during presentation.
• Either Team Captain or Vice-Captain, must compulsorily be a part of the 5-member
presentation team.
• Access to the presentation premises will be restricted. Students must present their ID cards at
the entry point to enter the presentation area.
• Teams must report to the presentation holding area at least 30 minutes before their scheduled
presentation slot. (Refer Presentation Slotting Matrix for Presentation Time Slots).
• In case a team does NOT report for its slot OR reports on a different slot, it shall NOT be
evaluated.
• Teams failing to report to Presentation will be awarded zero marks for Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA.
• Teams have to strictly adhere to timeline for presentation followed by Q&A Session.
• Teams have to prepare the presentation in strict adherence with the guidelines. Any deviation
from the same would not be considered. Presentation must be submitted online as per the
submission guidelines and before the mentioned deadline. (Refer BAJA Forum for Submission
Guidelines).
• Presentations submitted by the teams will already be available at their respective presentation
rooms.
• Teams are NOT ALLOWED to carry any of the following into the Presentation: Prototypes, Pen
drives, Mobile Phones, Calculators, CD’s, camera, laptop, tablet etc.
BAJA OC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONFISCATE ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICE WHICH CAN BREACH THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE
VIRTUAL BAJA SAEINDIA 2019. TEAMS FOUND GUILTY FOR ANY MISCONDUCT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT.

Visiting Chandigarh
Chandigarh by Air
Chandigarh is connected by air to major Indian cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad with the
Chandigarh Airport, soon to become Chandigarh International Airport.
Chandigarh by Road
The city is conveniently located within motor able distance from a number of major cities of north India. National
Highways 21 and 22 run through the city, and excellent road condition with pleasant views on either side of the
road offer a pleasant drive. It is approximately 250 Km’s north of New Delhi and takes nearly five hours for the
journey.
Chandigarh by Rail
Chandigarh is linked with rest of the country with an effective rail network. Important trains such as the Shatabdi
Express and the Himalayan Queen provide connection with New Delhi on a daily basis. There are also trains to
other important cities such as Mumbai and Kolkata.
Teams traveling through trains to be requested to de-board at Ambala Cantt Railway Station for
quicker access to Campus.

Climate
The climate is subtropical in nature and is characterized by hot summers.
The main feature of Punjabi food is the extensive use of butter, cream, ghee and cheese. Their meals usually consist of
pulses cooked on a slow flame with the traditional Punjabi tadka. For preparing the gravy, a mixture of onion,
tomato, ginger, garlic and spices are used. Usually the traditional Punjabi food is prepared in the earthen tandoor,
which give the food a unique aroma. In the category of beverages, one name that truly deserves a mention is the
