Ryan Johnson 72-Hour Kit
Ryan Johnson 72-Hour Kit
There are multiple reason that everyone should have a 72-hour kit ready to go.
The main reason is that when a disaster hit, you are ready to go and won’t need to
spend the time to get everything that you may need ready to go. With a 72-hour kit you
don’t need to spend precious time gathering things that you may need in case you need
to leave your house for some reason. Because in a disaster time can be a sensitive
matter and every minute counts. Some reason that you may need to have this kit ready
to go especially along the Wasatch front is that they are expecting a large earthquake
along this fault line, and will put a lot of people in a disasters state where they might not
have access to some of the basic necessities like food, clean water, and shelter/warm
closing. With a 72-hour kit you won’t have to worry about those things for 3 days. That
will give you time to find out what is going on and where aid will be if you need more
then what you already have prepared. Some people don’t believe you will need a 72-
hour kit because they have everything they need at home and will just use that in case
of an emergency, but what they don’t usually take in to a count is that depending on the
emergency depends on if you are able to stay into your house of not. Its true with a big
storm that knocks out power you can stay in your house, but if there is major flooding or
an chemical spill you may need to leave your house because it is dangerous to stay.
With a 72-hour kit it is very important that you keep it up to date and maintain it
so its will be ready to go as soon as you need it. The best way that you can maintain
your kit is by checking it every year or two and looking at what you have inside of it and
seeing if it is all still up to date and good to eat and use. One of the main things that you
need to maintain is the food, you must make sure that the food isn’t past its expiration
date. And if it is you should replace it with new food, that will be good and healthy when
you may need it. You can also maintain it by replacing the medicine that is in the kit.
