Mist Chamber and Its components

What is mist Chamber?

Enclosed structure in which artificially mist is generated for the propagation of Plants or
seedlings. In Mist Chamber, Relative humidity is maintained at high level (95 %) with the help
of mister’s, which spray water under high pressure. Size of mist partials lies between 50 to 100
µm.
High relative humidity facilitate better root initiation and cooling effect prevents the cutting
from drying out.

Advantages of mist chamber

 This method results in faster rooting of the cuttings.
 Create optimum Microclimate for better root initiation and development.
 Higher success rate found in propagation of hard wood cuttings.

Disadvantages of mist chamber

 Hardening of rooted cuttings is more difficult and requires careful attention. Selection
of right medium is very important.
 Under mist conditions oxygen deficiency can create problem.

Components of mist chamber

Frame

 All galvanized steel is used to take withstand of wind speed 120 km. /hour.
 End wall and side wall framing Aluminium corner trims, aluminium ridge bar and
Galvanized gutter trim Brackets & fasteners as required to assemble frame.
 Pipes sections are used for different Structural Member i.e. trusses, truss Members-
Purlins

Shade Net
 Top Shade net- 50% HDPE Shade net, UV Stabilized, Sulphur resistant for top.
 Secondary Shade Net- Shade Net 35% (UV Stabilized) which is made up of
retractable with proper hooks & UV stabilized PP ropes.
 Nylon Net - 40 mesh nylon net, UV Stabilized, sulphur resistant for all the four sides.

Ante Room
  The main purpose of the ante room is to ensure sanitation and for reducing the chances
for entry of insects and pests through personnel. Ante room door situated diagonally
opposite with locking arrangement.

Fogger, micro sprinklers and emitting laterals

 16mm inline/online drip lateral, class-2, discharge: 2 to 4 lph, PVC mains / sub mains,
control valves, flush valves, proper zoning based on water availability, disc filter and
venturi fertilizer injector with pressure gauge and Pump unit.
