The poem describes someone who was born into "the green" but was then torn from it and left feeling shaken to their core. They became addicted to "science pills" used to slay beasts, with the pills coming at a hazardous cost. By the end, the speaker feels reborn and able to return to "a new green" having survived challenging times and overcome their addiction.

Today was unforeseen I thought it was all just a dream Unshaken bones they are no more Shaken bones are to the core These brilliant minds Their clever feats They try so hard To slay the beasts Their science pills With such hazardous bills Not that alone But left with more An addict is born From the green, I am torn Disregard the heart, it speaks As the green fades It fades to black I hear a voice, from the back Run from the light Your time is tight You’ve never seen That the time is right Come back for me Come back and you’ll see The new beasts slayed A new breath to be made To a new green, I am reborn
